It was the minority but sadly now it’s becoming more.
More yes Annis, but still in the minority,

This is the truth of the matter
Sadly, the ignoramus amongst our society are just more obvious in these situations...
Part of the problem is that society has (a) lost the ability to tell others when they are plainly out of order, and (b) developed an underbelly of individuals who believe they can do what they like with no (likely) consequences
The Government (the real one, not the fake one down the Bay) need to take a firm grip sooner rather than later and take strong action against those who are stretching the boundaries of what to date has been a campaign driven by 'trust'

At the start of this, I thought Piers Morgan was totally over the top in what he was saying. Got to admit I was wrong, Morgan is spot on! Not a fan of his by any stretch, but he’s been one of the few public figures who have talked any sense in this crisis!

He must talk some sense, as long time friend 'The Donald' has binned him on Twitter after remarks made!

And now widely being reported you may have 10 friends visit!
On the plus side they are now looking to introduce a 14 day quarantine period for anyone arriving from abroad through the airports, well it took them long enough, talk about shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted

Government need to get a grip of this quickly before we get a second wave
Part of the problem is the Government with their mixed messages. They claim we shouldn't leave our homes but then give a nod and a wink to businesses to reopen and recall staff due to the economic cost of the lock down.

If I choose a friend and my friend is on my list but I am not on there list will they get in trouble and be fined for seeing me whilst I am ok ?
What if I choose 10 people but none of them choose me ?
Or do we just choose 10 different people every day to go and see ?
That cant work in any way shape or form they may as well cancel lockdown if they do that

It is almost five weeks since strict rules were announced to limit the spread of coronavirus which will continue into May.
Police say the message is now so clear that individuals who are outside for reasons other than those permitted in the guidelines would face "greater enforcement activity", including a fixed penalty notice of £60.
Among the excuses given to Gwent Police officers were:
"My son is a rubbish cook so I take him food every day"
"I've just been to feed the fish"
"I've been to buy nail clippers for the dog"
"I've bought a new catapult and wanted to try it out"
"I don't watch the news - what's going on?"
"I'm taking my mate into Newport to buy drugs"
"I am taking my quad bike for a walk and I promise I am not going ride it around a field"
"I thought I heard someone may be in trouble, so I came to have a look but I don't know their name or remember the person who told me it".
Gwent Deputy Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman said: "We understand this is a difficult time for all people.
"The vast majority of our communities are adhering to the guidance and we are grateful for the real difference they are making.
"A small minority are continuing to go against these guidelines."

'Important we take people with us' on UK lockdown
The Labour Party's Rachel Reeves has told Andrew Marr it is "incredibly important" the government takes people with it by showing them a path to coming out of lockdown.
The Labour MP for Leeds West and shadow cabinet office minister said: "I think the vast majority of people support the lockdown and want to support the government and national effort.
"It is important that people continue to stick by the rules because it is only by doing that that we will defeat the virus.
"We must take people with us on this journey by giving them a greater idea of what comes next."
She also called for testing at community level in venues such as town halls or libraries so that people without cars could reach them.

Government 'doing its homework' on how to relax the lockdown, says Dominic Raab
Dominic Raab, the Foreign Secretary, said the Government was "doing its homework" on how to relax the lockdown in a way that did not result in a second peak of the virus.
"As we go through the peak of this crisis, two critical things have happened which were part of our plan," he told the Sophy Ridge on Sunday programme.
"The first one is as we go through we flattened the peak because the public followed social distancing guidelines very carefully.
"That has been successful, and I'm afraid it's the reality that the death toll would have been far higher if those measures hadn't been introduced at the right time and if the public hadn't been overwhelmingly supportive of those measures."
The second was that the NHS has not been overwhelmed, he said.
"We are sticking to the medical advice and the scientific advice with the social distancing measures at this time, while at the same time doing the homework, if you like, to make sure we are prepared in due course for the next phase."

The problem is its a waiting game and 24 hour "news" and shock jock TV personalities need to cause more noise than there really is.
In a country of 66 million you find a couple of hundred sitting down in a park or walking Brighton beach, yes i know there are many multiples of this throughout but the vast vast majority are abiding by the rules.
It's tricky for any government (whatever party) to get the balance correct, not just for the economy but peoples sanity. I can go to work if i am a bus driver or work at Tesco's but can't have a friend over.
I think the sheer shock of this virus and measures have changed the country on the whole. Washing hand, social distancing, no physical contact especially with strangers will be in our psyche for the short term and beyond.
Piers Morgan is becoming a parody and he is a sharp bloke, so perhaps that's his plan, or just his ego is so out of control he believes his own importance far too much.

Analysis: UK lockdown talks going on behind the scenes
Iain Watson
Political correspondent
Prime Minister Boris Johnson could possibly lead the daily news conference on Monday but, if not then, it will be pretty soon afterwards.
As far as I understand, he will be getting briefed by his Downing St team early tomorrow morning and then he will be chairing the Covid-19 meeting, which is a smaller group of cabinet ministers. That is what he used to do before he was off sick.
Chairing Monday's meeting is a measure of him saying, "I’m back in charge".
From what I've been told, and the conversations I’ve had with people in Whitehall and Downing St, the prime minister will proceed with caution when it comes to dealing with the lockdown.
We would expect an announcement on 7 May, when all this is being reviewed again, and I do think at that stage he will take his foot off the brake ever so slightly.
But he will move cautiously because he will not want to fuel a second wave of infections.
Although they haven't yet set a clear route map out of lockdown, not in the same way as the devolved administrations in Scotland and Wales, those discussions are most certainly going on behind the scenes. Talks involving the prime minister have taken place from his country residence Chequers with senior Cabinet ministers.

When will the lockdown be eased?
Addressing that point, Mr Johnson added: "And so when we are sure that this first phase is over and that we are meeting our five tests: deaths falling, NHS protected, rate of infection down, really sorting out the challenges of testing and PPE, avoiding a second peak, then that will be the time to move on to the second phase in which we continue to suppress the disease and keep the reproduction rate - the R rate - down, but begin gradually to refine the economic and social restrictions and one-by-one to fire up the engines of this vast UK economy.
"And in that process difficult judgments will be made and we simply cannot spell out now how fast or slow or even when those changes will be made, though clearly the Government will be saying much more about this in the coming days."
Mr Johnson said in terms of discussions about changes to restrictions: "We will also be reaching out to build the biggest possible consensus across business, across industry, across all parts of our United Kingdom, across party lines, bringing in opposition parties as far as we possibly can.
"I think that's no less than what the British people would expect."

Dr Hillary says it could be as bad as 40,000.
The lockdown must not be lifted .

UK government to judge ability to 'move forward' this week
Downing Street has briefed reporters this afternoon, following the return of Boris Johnson.
The prime minister’s official spokesman says that we could hear more about how the government will judge the UK's ability to “move forward” by the end of the week. This is after we heard Mr Johnson say this morning that more detail would be revealed in the "coming days".
The spokesman says Mr Johnson earlier gave a “clear-eyed assessment” of the situation.
He says the key is to satisfy the five tests set out by the government - we have more on that here - and they have to be confident that “refining” social distancing measures will not help “lead to a second peak".

Greggs to open 20 stores in "controlled trial"
The first Greggs stores will reopen next week, as the chain looks to get sausage rolls and steak bakes back on our streets again after lockdown.
Some 20 stores in the Newcastle area will start operating again from Monday May 4 as part of a “controlled trial”.
After that, far more are set to open.

Can these people be reported for not social distancing or is this something that the police are unlikely to act on? Over the last few days I've seen a lot of youths gathering together behind the back of the local leisure centre. I wouldn't normally do anything but their selfishness is putting us all at risk.

'Third of calls to police about lockdown breaches'
A third of calls to police are concerned with breaches of coronavirus lockdown regulations, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones says.
He was speaking after it emerged 10 people had travelled from London to Gwynedd with the intention of climbing Snowdon before being turned away by officers.
"There will always be people who will try their luck," he said.
"Those people were stopped and given a fixed penalty ticket.
"Whether a £60 fine is enough of a deterrent for people travelling from London I don't know."

Agreed, except a,I'm more inclined to say scared to tell others, rather than lost the ability to tell others, telling the youth today, carries the risk of being seriously hurt,or even death! Unless of course you are coming from the angle of "lost the ability" meaning the law is too soft on them, in that scenario we have lost the ability.I agree with the stance on the government has led to them in the main, overstep the boundaries,as they are so confusing to even sensible people.

Nando's becomes the latest fast food chain to reopen
Nando’s has become the latest fast food company to get back into business as it reopens six outlets for deliveries.
The peri-peri chicken chain has fired up the kitchens at four restaurants in London - Camberwell, Canary Jubilee, Clink Street and Gloucester Road - and Fallowfield and Printworks in Manchester - to offer a delivery service through Deliveroo.
Nando's reopened the six sites last week to serve food for NHS workers and charities and will continue to do so.
The menu will be reduced to help the team maintain social distance in the kitchen and food prep areas, but the majority of Nando's favourites such as peri-peri chicken wings, halloumi and peri chips will now be available to enjoy at home," the chain said.
"Each Nando's restaurant has been working under Public Health England guidelines for the past week on top of their existing health and safety procedures.
