I agree with both of you,things will get better,but my concerns are with countries lying about numbers of deaths, to have it believes they are clean,I watched an interview with an American doctor,who says in 40 years he hasn't known anything like it,saying countries are putting covid 19 on death certificates without even testing patient? Also so far we are not up to the levels of deaths worldwide, of the last 3 years or so from the flu season.

I think there is a lot of truth in what you say and we will never know the true numbers .

Sky News last night said Uk deaths in Nursing homes were in there thousands and that it was just accepted they died of the virus , yet they are now just assuming it.
They say the UK are not putting those numbers out as it would make the UK the 2nd worst in the world behind the USA.

My other half works in a GP surgery and they won't put COVID-19 on death certificates unless the patients have been tested and confirmed as having the decease. That is the right thing to do IMO even if it means under reporting of COVID-19 deaths.

More dangerous however is China and Russia whose death figures are frankly fantasy.

Unless a deceased person has been tested and confirmed as having COVID-19 then it would be irresponsible to put the decease as a contributing factor towards a death. There is nothing to be gained by inflating death numbers artificially.

Annis you have previously claimed that Spain/Italy/France have included Nursing Home deaths in their official figures. I don't know how accurate their reporting is likely to be as they like the UK are not testing enough to know the true numbers.

Germany is the example of how this pandemic should have been handled but they had the infrastructure to test, test and test again. When this is allover the UK/Spain etc need to address their own abilities to test as a priority.
