Spain reports lowest death toll in four weeks
Spain said 399 people died of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours in what was the lowest daily number of deaths in four weeks, the government said on Monday.
The latest figures, which showed a slight drop from Sunday when 410 people died, brought further relief to a country which has suffered the third-highest number of virus deaths in the world after the United States and Italy.
"Today for the first time we've fallen under 400 deaths, although it's only a little lower (than Sunday), these figures give us hope," said Fernando Simon, the health ministry's emergencies coordinator.
"These are very encouraging figures," he said.

interesting regarding Germany, so many recovered but no the level of deaths like othercases. So it must be spreading in Germany but not killing as many, odd.

Worked for a number of years with a German owned company and one thing I noted were how slim and fit looking the vast majority were They just looked much healthier than the average Brit On the bbc they do mention that 70 % of the people who died in Uk had a BMI above 25% so basically fat

About 14 mill bigger, but then Germany is far bigger population than Uk and they have one of the lowest Deaths.
I still feel Uk handled it way way to lightly Govt and some of the people.
Looking at the figures it would seem that Spain and the UK will have roughly the same amount of deaths from COVID-19 when adjustments for population is taken into consideration so the difference in lock down stipulations really is not significant.
However, it is accepted that Germany's lower death rate is due to their testing and tracing policy. That is something both Spain and the UK have failed to do. So it is not the lock down which is to blame it's the failure to test.

Tony, Spain have included all the care homes in their numbers , so we shall wait and see, I hope the UK don’t even come anywhere near the SPANISH numbers of deaths by the end of all this, never mind even more.
