Because it's a simple fact that he is by a long long way.
He made a mistake, he apologised and rectified it. It done . Most people have rightly forgiven and moved on.
Haven't you ever made a mistake before ?

Maybe they can see beyond the (clear) mistakes and look at the rest of what has happened since he (Tan) arrived?
2 x Premier League seasons for a start and a financial stability we have not seen in many a year; and certainly not since the late Bob Grogan's short but promising tenure back in 70's
Sadly, Geordie born Bob passed away suddenly and his company Kenton Utilities didn't want to know
It's certainly not all been had under the current regime

UPDATE EMERGES REGARDING CARDIFF CITY OWNERSHIP OFFERSBy Liam Drury It has been revealed that Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has turned down two offers for the club in recent months.
The news was reported by WalesOnline with both offers having thought to have come in the past 12 months from interested parties abroad.
Tan is believed to have rejected the offers for Wales’ capital club because he didn’t feel as if either offer was in the right interests of the Bluebirds.
The man pumping money into the club is thought to be fully focused on Cardiff and seeing manager Neil Harris guide the club towards the top six in the Championship this season.
Chairman Mehmet Dalman revealed the news at a fans’ Q&A evening – quoted by Walesonline.
Dalman said:
“I discussed each of them with Vincent. He didn’t want to go.”Tan took over the club just under 10 years ago and has overseen a mildly successful time during his time in charge.
He originally headed up a Malaysian consortium that purchased 30% shares before increasing those shares to 90% by the end of 2014.
Tan has seen Cardiff win two promotions to the Premier League in the last decade while employing six permanent managers during his time at The Cardiff City Stadium, excluding Dave Jones who was in charge when Tan arrived.
The VerdictTan still seems to be as committed as ever to the club since taking over a decade ago.
He appears to be doing right by the club and will be silently overseeing things as he hopes Harris can be the man that manages to guide Cardiff back into the Premier League sooner rather than later.

"Tan took over the club just under 10 years ago and has overseen a mildly successful time during his time in charge."Let's be fair here, if Tan's reign has been 'mildly successful' since he has been here (2 x Premier League seasons, Play-off Final and a League Cup Final vs Liverpool) then I shudder to think what the previous 50 years would be described as...?
FA Cup Final and MillStad promotion excepted, of course!

A mildly successful period?? For us it was and has been quite a successful period, cheeky f#cker

I understand what you say Sven regards tan ( red debacle aside) he has certainly been keeping this club alive,if not sustained premier league status, people want him to go (not me) but who will we get in his place? How close we were to the trapdoor was a scarey time, for me anyway,If I'm reading right, when he does sell,we should be debt free, and a better proposition to potential new buyers,I like the fact he also won't just palm us off on anyone, and is true to his word on that,I hope he sticks around (having learnt from being burnt) a while longer, just my personal view on it

Sam Hammam. No for God's sake, he would bleed the club dry. Qatar Airlines, Yes but if the highest offer has been £50 million then forget it as some players are worth double that. How does the Qatar Stadium sound. Would they appreciate the Ayatollah.

Mildy successful!!! What the hell is all that about?
Here's my take, for what it's worth...
1, He made a huge mistake but was man enough to admit and rectify. ( Let he who casts the first stone and all that )
2, He is keeping us afloat monthly but not giving away players to pay bills ( like in the past, remember Kav

)
3, We don't seem to be hiding from HMRC every year.
4, FFP seems to be in the news for other clubs not us ( for a change )
5, We seem to have a good young manager who has a plan ( IMHO )
6, Mr Tan seems to be a honourable man as he said he wouldn't sell to just anyone if he thought they weren't right.
7, Great stadium, Fans numbers, Good enough squad ( could do with one or two )
Please please please keep SH away from this club as IMO all the above will soon be unraveled

I've been happy with this "mildly successful" period.
Red no.
Everything else ... Well what's not to like? Cup finals. Promotions. Full house attendances.

We all should be honest to ourselves
Tan took us on when a Championship club, saved us from court , yet turned fan against fan, put many fans through worse days their lives following City, some will never forgive others have, respect both, took us up twice yet failed to to keep us up, relegated twice and now still sorting out debts Tan he made.
Has no knowledge of football Tan, thats where the problem lies and is surrounded by people who have no real input in our football club.

Club hopefully will be left in a better position than before Tan came, at moment it would not be.
Tan, has done good for Cardiff and bad for Cardiff

VT could sell us to a consortium of Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates but profitability and sustainability regulations means that they couldn't invest more than £13m per season to cover losses without the sanction of points deduction.
So it is no longer whether an owner is wealthy which counts the most its whether they have the best interests of the club at heart.

Sven, simple error, the m is upside down. Should be a w as in "Wildly successful". Not as far fetched as it seems based on the 'non-success' achieved by the club since I started watching the City in the mid 60's. Excluding the FA cup final of course !

Nothing will be as funny as your derbies with Newport in a year or two, and it’s not them that are getting promoted.

What a load of rubbish
Vincent tan has owned the club for over ten years.
He has also owned and has interests
in other big foreign sides.
He has a lot more knowledge about how a football club runs than anybody on this message board. What he lacked was a understanding of british traditions and how deeply proud and committed people are of local football clubs in this country.
He has learned that over the last 5 years or so since the rebrand and made good on his mistakes.
It's crazy people think he has no idea about football hes been involved in major clubs at this level for over a decade, that arguement doesnt wash anymore
Also regarding the debt , it took him all this time to sort out Sam and Ridsdales mess you cant blame it all on tan he has put in a fantastic amount of money over ten years which no other owner would have.

Worth remembering that a year includes time when we were still fighting to stay in PL. £30 million then is derisory. £50 million now on the other hand an altogether different story; though depending on present debt level may still be in excess of realistic.
I don't think anyone should be thinking Tan will only sell to a white Knight buyer. If a buyer comes along willing to pay Tan and take over the debt burden then Tan will sell.
Its an amazing testimony to his tenure that fans split on whether its been a success or not. It has been a success but I think its also been a time of so many lost opportunities.

Think of the parachute payments and it's more than 50 million ,tan would be a fool to sell at that price unless the new owners had to pay the debt back to him also but other clubs like Portsmouth went down that route ,when your as rich as tan you can keep a asset for years untill the time is right to sell for a profit look at mike Ashley looking for 380million for Newcastle paid 120 million for it

Its a shame that he never employed someone from 2010 with football experience at board level, the money he has spent we should be an established premier league team.
Some of the signings beggar belief, to be fair he has backed all managers to a degree, but wow we have wasted millions.

Transfers are one of those things though, some work some dont.
Who is more experienced than say Neil Warnock? yet plenty of people (rightly imo) think he wasted a lot of money.
