We all bought into the "Sir Neil" can turn water into wine mantra. If he thought £8 mill was too much to turn down for Kenny, and Bobby at £11 mill needed to go as well, we may have looked quizfully, but nodded our heads in trust.

We don't know how much he had to spend and what the budget was. We don't know if he had the final say in Kenny or Reid. As with Warnock his cheaper buys appear better than the more expensive ones. Flint, Pack & Glatzel have turned out to be disappointing

I look at our squad in the cold light of day and realise its bang average especially without the Warnock factor. Our biggest book asset barely starts a game, and the only player i reckon other teams would want is Ralls !!

I thought the playoffs were out of reach after the Millwall game, no disgrace in that, 20 teams don't make it.

I don't think this is a Slade situation, we don't have ridiculously overpaid players that no one else will touch, they just don't fit a style. We can move them on with a small loss.

Hope to see if Issac Vassell at some point, i missed his cameo.

Other teams would want Etheridge, Smithies, Ralls, Morrison, Bennett, Tomlin, Mendez, Hoilett and probably quite a few more, it's a decent squad but underperforming as most teams do when they get relegated!

We have no money as Tan needs to recoup all his investment, hes a businessman running a business that he wants to see a return on his investment. Unless we are ever purchased by a massively wealthy person then this is our lot. We are what we are a mid sized championship club, not good or big enough for a sustained PL stay but to big for League One (opps, ala Pompey, Sunderland, Bradford City). For many years we trailed around the bottom two divisions and preyed for the second tier, so let all embrace what we have, leave the PL to the big boys (Bournemouth being the exception, Burnley have the tradition) and make whats we can in the Championship year after year :bluebird:

Usually enjoy your posts but not this one. Every fan at this club after the Man U game last season (last May) thought the squad we had at that precise time were good enough to go straight back up and happy with Warnock in charge as he was the best man for the job and we were still wallowing in exceeding expectations the year before. Because some players decided that they were too good enough for the championship they didn’t finish the job they were brought in to do. So Warnock had to replace them fairly quickly (July/Aug). Warnock then got a big squad together which he knows will should give us an advantage over other teams in the second half of the season. But because we, the fans started getting on his case, so so early on, he walked like he always said he would if he felt our relationship was turning sour. We let him down, so do badly. Most of you turned on him, like rats, myself included to a lesser degree because I went along with it, and didn’t stand up for him. I feel like I’ve let Warnock down. We turned on a family member when he needed us for the 1st time. Well he went and after a long and thorough recruitment process lol of about a week (what other job would you have that) we end up with hamster face Harris. We thought he was the cheap option at the time because he is. He reminds people of slade and Trollope because he does by his coaching ( against Brum admitted f**k this boys were crap playing my way go back to warnockballs) style, the current teams playing style, his briefings and we the fans see the resemblance to them. Unless he does something spectacular (really not believable) we will probably end up mid table just missing out on playoffs. We end up keeping him, he messed it up replaced mid season by another slade Trollope Harris type manager and same happens next year. GET rid of him now! BEG Warnock back till end of season while a real successor can be identified and found and put in place before may ready for next season. Nice send off for Warnock last game everybody’s happy. We had the right man for the job but we the fans blew it. It’s not too late to avoid 2 or 3 more seasons of mid table boredom. I’m fed up of playing counting seagulls games like I had to, to survive the slade Trollope days. ST holder x 4 here and done all 92 so would like to think I have some right to say this. Sorry guys cannot take to Harris at all.

that's a fair rant, and I nodded in agreement through most of it..its certainly not a majority opinion on here but is defo a majority opinion with who I speak too. but although I still feel massively let down by our fans over the NW treatment I do believe we need to move on..

I pay to support my team rain or shine.

Christ i was down there when we were close to falling out of the league.

We're midtable in one of the hardest leagues in world football with the playoffs still in touching distance securing a point away at Birmingham.

Oh its so terrible isnt it!!

Yes it is for some who think we should be top two at least with a big name manager or young dynamic up and coming manager from lower leagues? But Got NH instead! :laughing6:

you think securing a point a lowly birmingham is a point gained not 2 lost , big deal you nearly watched cardiff drop out of the league, and you think the way we are playing is fine and is not a hard watch your easily pleased then.

Any away point is good point regardless who you are playing and where they are in league? Do you remember our promotion with malky 10 straight wins at home then lost at home to Peterborough bottom of league! And that happens regularly in championship teams dropping points to struggling team, but If game was at ccs have point but not away. :old:

St Andrews is never an easy ground to go to so yes i consider a point a good result, if you don't I'd question how much football you follow?

And yes i think being 2 wins off play offs with a new manager whos only lost is it 2 in 14 is ok.

Sorry your so angry about that ha ha

Re: WRITTEN OFF SEASON

We do have some very good players at this level, and very experienced too. The problem is that this season, as like last season, too many of them are not performing. Those who played so well when Warnock first came here and in the year we were promoted, have been below par now for a season and a half. I can name Morrison, Bamba, Ralls, Hoilett, Mendez-Laing, Bennett and Etheridge in that group. Coupled with the poor signings of Flint, Pack, Whyte and Glatzel you get a bang average team. They can turn it on sometimes, but only sometimes, and at other times be totally awful, like at QPR. It's down to the players themselves and the coaches to get them playing better.

Someone above says we don't pay silly money, but clearly players like Pack, Flint and Glatzel would have been offered very good terms to come to us and now we cannot unload them. Day was offered treble his Newport wages to come here and now he is third choice! Well done Warnock. and those in charge of finances. We will struggle to get back any of the money we have outlaid on these new players, so it's no wonder we will probably be unable to bring anyone in. Players like Ward and Bogle won't move, they'll juts see out their contracts until the summer.

It's too early to get on Harris' back , he inherited the team and is probably aware of the magnitude of the job he has taken on. He may not have been a popular choice but we have to back him and give him time. Even Solksjaer has had over year at Man U and he is terrible!

Re: WRITTEN OFF SEASON

I think most reasonable fans knew this year was one of stability and starting to rebuild the playing side of things. Few teams go straight back up and some slide down the divisions.

So expectations were pretty low in terms of challenging.

I didnt mind warnock ball sometimes... it works well and is exciting when you have fast players and good finishers... i do think warnock lost it a bit and we ended up with a team playing warnock ball but without the pace and excitement. So a change was needed.

Not sure if Harris is the right guy... probably isnt... but we have had much worse seasons than this..

While as a fan it's important to have hope the reality is that most seasons for most teams are just 'meh'.. which is part and parcel of being a fan.

Warnock has been criticised by fans for most of his career. There is no chance that a group of fans on social media that were unhappy with the football, hounded him out of the club like you and a few others on here make out. I never heard anything bad aimed at him at the ground. The fact that he walked before he was pushed suggests that he knew he couldnt get any more out of this group of players. You say you don't want mid table boredom but that is exactly what we were getting with Warnock. He deserves massive credit for uniting the fans, getting us promoted and giving the prem a good go but if he is going to accept the credits then he needs to accept the criticism as well. The fact is he spent a lot of money on a squad that has zero pace and very little quality which, at the end of the day, wasnt good enough to play his type of football. That is why the football was dire this season and we hadnt managed back to back victories, hadnt won away and we sitting 14th in the table. The only person to blame for his departure is Warnock himself.

Point of order. Birmingham can in no way be considered a hard place to go. They have lost more matches than they have won at home and conceded more goals than they have scored. Any ambitious team going to Birmingham should be looking to win.

We are no giants of this league ourselves. Not exactly as if we are setting the division alight, just 6 points ahead of Birmingham who could quite easily finish the season ahead of us. Anything can happen in this league, and quite often does. I doubt if Brentford thought they should lose at home to Birmingham, and I'm sure WBA fans were not expecting to lose at home last night. We have taken 4 points off Birmingham this season, if we could do that with most of the other sides in this division we would be battling it out towards the top, rather than the mid table side we undoubtedly are at the moment.
