Yes was something and nothing! All can say was a bit stupid (given hes a footballer) as police and hundreds of cameras that were focussed on that end.

Haven't we all done something which on refelection we shouldn't have . I have

Yes but was not in public eye or at such high profile event with lots of attention on it.

Thats not everyone now is it ;)

Not bothered one way or the other myself. Not many of us are angels, I don't have a problem with him.

No that's the point isn't it? he is high profile (loose term) at high profile event the probability of him being photographed or videotaped and it being put on social media was highly likely! So his actions can be classed as stupid but to me was something and nothing with FA seeing it that way and just reminded him of his responsibilities as a "role model" .anyway it's over nothing else to say on matter.. :occasion5:

Actually, as a teacher, if I were spotted doing something like this I would be expecting at least a formal written reprimand. If I were a member of Senior Management, as I was, I would have been politely asked to relinquish that role. Therefore, I would expect someone who is even more in the public eye to know better.

For what it's worth, I couldn't give a monkeys what he or anyone else does - it's banter - as long as it doesn't overstep the mark, but he can't be as daft as to think that there would not be several cameras trained on him ready for any slight misdemeanour in case of anything 'newsworthy'?

Any professional person like dr nurse cop ect ect are expected to behave in a proper manner even when off duty, footballer is no different he is a role model whether he likes it or not and as such comes under FA rules governing his behaviour on or off pitch as many players have found out after doing wrong on social media..

Gary Neville has defended Oli McBurnie after he was photographed making an obscene gesture at Cardiff fans — with the FA dishing out a warning to the the Sheffield United striker.

The 23-year-old was spotted among the travelling fans at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday as he supported his old team Swansea during the South Wales derby.

McBurnie was snapped taunting Cardiff fans and was caught on Sky Sports during the game.
The FA decided to warn him on Monday afternoon as they responded to the incident.

A statement read: 'The FA has reminded Sheffield United's Oli McBurnie of his responsibilities following attendance at the EFL Championship fixture between Cardiff and Swansea yesterday.'

But Neville was outraged at that and took to Twitter to back up the former Swansea man.

He wrote: 'That's a disgrace. This lad has done the most normal thing I've seen from a footballer for a long time.

How ironic that on the same day that theres a protest about the use of facial recognition technology, a well known person gets reprimanded for his behaviour after being caught on camera.

Joking aside there is no crime for looking like and acting a dick, so I wouldn't have thought anything will happen?

If that was an ex Cardiff player we would all be sucking him off.

Fair play to him. Nice that he keeps his links with an old club. Bought 100 pints at QPR away for a load of Swansea fans apparently. Class.

Won’t happen. But they’d probably find it easy to type one with all 12 fingers they’ve got.

A player in the Scottish league was sacked for doing the same at a celtic rangers game.

Sacked by a bitter Celtic Fan who’s managerial career is on a downward spiral. We all give opposition players abuse, in truth we’ve no right to complain when they give us some back.
