Swim away has been used by the inbreds for years since 100 of their hard men chased 4 kids into the sea.

Yes and it’s embarrassing and disrespectful to try and link the two together.

I started following city in ‘93 at the age of 17 and I’ve never heard or seen them do this until yesterday.... even during the derby in Jan ‘94 when they threw the seats into the families.... now I know I can see it doesn’t have anything to do with Sala but in all fairness not knowing that exact story does allow for linking the two together.

Just like I'm sure most normal Swansea fans would know nothing about what happened in Canton or any other events of violence that's gone on between certain factions of each fan base

Didn’t quite catch what they were singing along with it, but extremely insensitive seeing as we’re coming up on the 1st anniversary of Sala’s death

Older people would.. Swansea town centre would shut down. They never used to turn out then. Chasing them back to the North Bank was the best(91 FA Cup). Fair play to the 15 or so who stayed tho..the rest were just noisy from afar, or threw bricks etc..This was 80s to early 90s.
We never really had much trouble off them, they never had the numbers.

Reference, did you see Dr Who the other night, it was like seeing the aliens in that, only they didn't all look like Steve Cooper! That was the first time I'd seen the face of a Jack fan as usually they are heading away from me with their backs to me.
And for December 1993, CCFC were good to them and let them get wet on the uncovered Grange End and let them in to Block A of the Grandstand, which is from here they attacked the family enclosure below, I know I was in there with my 10 heard son.
They are good entertainment though, laughable most of the time.

the 93 game changed everything and was the beginning of first being banned from going to each others grounds and now the OTT bubbles..
putting them in the grandstand that night must rank as one of the most idiotic decision at a football match ever.. personally I felt it had more to do with £ signs than them being dry... and had they not cleared the lower family enclosure { in what was the lowest ive seen any fans stoop to } there wouldn't have been enough room for them in A block ?

From what I remember of that night, the police didn't exactly cover themselves with glory. Could see the trouble beginning and I recall the matchday announcer requesting police assistance in the Grandstand more than once. From what I remember it was only when Cardiff fans got onto the pitch from the Canton end that we suddenly saw any real action from the police. The seats that the Swansea fans ripped out were thrown in the direction of men, women and children in the family section. Thankfully, that sort of behaviour in football grounds seems to have been consigned to the history books.

the bit on the news and photos that have done the rounds of their fans holding seats came later with stuff going back and fore between them and ST holders in B block.. the family enclosure bit was pre kick off and fortunately with not that many families in the enclosure... in fairness to the OB ,Swanseas special had not long arrived and they had been ambushed as they passed the back of the Canton { by the old shop } so had their hands full there..

I was in the family stand with my children, but on the left hand side of the bench facing the pitch. Most of the seat throwing was into the lower family section towards the grange side of the pitch. I can remember a load of police arriving from outside the ground, so as you say, they were probably busy elsewhere then. I remember the announcer requesting immediate assistance in the area of trouble, but not much happened for a few minutes. There were certainly seats being thrown back up into the upper section where the away fans were located. Can remember the trouble as I rarely saw any around at that time, can't remember the score though.
