Maybe it's because it's now in the second tier and tasting the premier League has taken the shine off it all?
Or is it just me?
Atmosphere in the first game was fantastic.
Cardiff haven’t scored against Swansea in 6 years so probably feels worse for you guys.
If you really think the first game was a great atmosphere - it must of been your first derby.
I have been to many, it was fantastic. “The Liberty is rocking” was the phrase used a lot by the pundits and neutrals.
Not surprised it was rocking, it feels like it was made by Bob the builder

It had the potential to go up a few notches with some more goal mouth action and a goal but is was as good as you are going to get in the modern game.

i think you hit the nail on the head when you say that phrase was used by pundits and neutrals....neturals would say, thats a good atmosphere when they have been there and experienced real atmospheres. and pundits say it for EVERY derby game thats in the UK. ooh you can hear the crowd, they have got "stadium x rocking" its to build excitement amongst the tv watchers.
both "derbies" had poor atmospheres, lets be realistic here. anyone who thought either had a "derby atmosphere" either is a modern day fan, i'm only 28, but i remember games in Ninian park, with about 10,000/12000 fans that was extremely intimidating and bouncing, and those games were tuesday night and non derbies. the modern day derby is dead. honestly does anyone car about us playing each other. to me swansea is just another game theres nothing exciting about it. if we lose it doesnt hurt like it should and if we win it doesnt feel as good as it should.
i've got plenty of good friends who are swans fans, all say the same. the derby is dead, its the youngsters who look forward to it, and "enjoy" but if you think that either of the derbies had a decent atmosphere my friend, i have sympathy you never experienced the old atmospheres...i dont mean violent but really intimidating and really bouncing

You're not wrong about the pundits tbh, sky were bigging it up many times throughout the build up and during the game.
I didn't go for personal reasons but my mates who went said it was the worst derby theh have been to in terms of atmosphere, they were proper deflated, stewards came in for some flack, I don't know what the answer is, getting people to sit down every ten seconds doesn't help, we need to be allowed to have a section close to the away fans where people can stand and sing be it the Ninian Stand or the Canton swapping with family.
Wales games are good but it's a one way atmosphere.
