For all the idiots who obviously never watch our under 23s and are happy to see us waste millions on old players instead of promoting the equally good players we already have here two to start you off and funnily enough both CB’s, Semi Ajeyi who one of the best in the league at WBA and Deji Oshijali (spl) who has been playing well for Charlton and is also versatile and can play in CM which is something we are definetly missing. Their are many others aswell but Brown is going to be the next in this list.

But no obviously you would all prefer to waste millions on average players instead of promoting talent

Why do people keep saying shit like this.

Anytime we loan a youngster out it’s we should of just played him.

Well maybe he’s not ready to be played at this level.

Because I have watched plenty of him and he is more than ready he will end up being another in the long list of young players we let go without giving him a chance only for him to end up playing for someone equal or better than us and showing. How stupid we were to let him go. We keep bro gong through decent young players only to not play them and instead spend millions on average players. Brown is already every bit as good as Flint we would have been better off promoting him to the first team and not wasting the millions on Flint this summer.

Absolute rubbish.

Your probably another who has never watched our under 23s then and is happy for us to spend millions on average players :laughing5:

Not sure about your predictions. Haven't you more than once this season predicted us to win the Championship with West Brom being runners up. I don't know many, if any others, who gave us a sniff of winning the league this season. It could be that perhaps there are not as many idiots on this forum as you think.

Ajeyi left here out of contract after 3 consecutive managers had thought him not good enough...
then being out of contract none of the other 43 managers of clubs in the top 2 tiers thought him good enough to offer a contract...
yes he did well at Rotherham and earned a move to WBA. but at the time like hundreds of others released by our academy he was not good enough.. you quite simply can not keep everyone..and no there are not many others who have gone on and done well... as for Charlton..2 wins in their last 18 ,lets be like them...

I have never said we would win the league I maintain we will be top 6. I said WBA would win the league and Leeds would blow it and finish 3 just like last year. All 3 things still likely to happen.

Are Ajeyi and Oshijali playing league of Wales?

If you dont even watch the under 23s then you can have zero opinion on how good they were when here.

As much as I hope Leeds blow it again, I don't think they will this time. My prediction at the start of the season was WBA & Leeds to take the automatic spots, and they look by far and away the teams most likely to succeed this season. Leeds are a big club, and I am surprised it has taken them so long to get back. I expect them to be a top half PL team within a few years, although it may take a lot longer before they can seriously challenge the elite PL sides again. I think West Brom will get back up, but I think they will be bottom half of PL, and will probably be one of those sides where success will be measured in just surviving in the top league for more than a season or two.

Anyone with a brain can see that you should promote your best youth player (Brown) rather than waste millions on a average 30 year old player. That’s just bad decision making. Particulary when our other 3 options their include a 34 year old.

Re: " Ciaron Brown "

Thu Jan 09, 2020 8:55 pm

Can I just point out...just because a player is doing well now doesn’t mean they showed any signs of promise when they were with their previous clubs. If we’re using Ajayi and Oshilaja as examples, when they were with us they seemed decent for the development side but nothing more and nothing less. They certainly didn’t show any signs of promise but showed an indication that they would definitely be a squad filler. After they leave their clubs, obviously they won’t be the same player, it’s common sense. Either their confidence will take a hit and their heads will drop and will be worse for it. Or they’ll manage to pick themselves up and work harder. For these two players, the second scenario was the case. But would they have worked harder if they were here? West Brom are a free-flowing attacking side, so would Ajayi even have fit in here? If Oshilaja was here, over whom in our usual side would you genuinely pick him over? Ralls? Bacuna? Even Tomlin? Oshilaja is a defensive player and therefore exactly what we don’t need atm.

If I’m honest, although our academy has failed to produce any quality players since Rambo, none of our players have shown pure desire when given a chance. Look at Mark Harris, Nat Jarvis and Josh Magennis. When they were given the chance they didn’t exactly initiate any excitement like other teams’ youngsters do (i.e. the Liverpool team vs Everton the other night, Sessengon for Fulham or Rashford for Man U). I know these are extreme cases where these players have amazing talent and are obviously too good for us but the point is, the players we produce might simply just be not good enough and are just squad fillers - players we’re trying to get rid of as it is.

he has gone on loan to get experience, and im sure every Cardiff fan wants him to do well up there..
going on loan doesn't mean never going to be good enough, it means not good enough right now.
so should the experience benefit him to a point where our manager picks him. the manager was correct as will be all our fans bar you who wanted to throw him in to early .

Like what exactly then mate? It simple a fact that people don’t like people who actually think for themselves about things especially when it’s against the clueless media’s and negative majority’s opinion on here. The y hate it even more when that person is proved right and their own opinions are proved wrong.

Even if I’m wrong about things I’d rather have an option on them than follow the sheeple majority who know little about football bar what the pundits sell them.

Never seen Brown play.

I don't care about Flints long list of championship appearances and for which managers, he just isn't good enough to be top end of chamionship and especially not in a partnership with Morrison.

Can we please though have the list of our Academy lads who have been overlooked by our managers but have gone on to better things.

Agreed. The frustration is that seemed patently clear five years ago and nothing of any note has changed since.
