Firstly, I love you you describe losses as “successes”.![]()
Anyway to address your point, I don’t think any of us believe that football started when we entered the Premier League. Everyone is fully aware of when football started, however most people are also fully aware that successes 100 years ago are less relevant than modern day wins, the game is chalk and cheese and things were a lot easier for smaller teams to win back then. Which is why Bury won it twice and Huddersfield won the league twice.
Nobody is saying don’t be proud of it, nobody is saying don’t discuss it, go for your life.
What is being said is that it is amusing when you use a win that none of you saw, or were alive to see in the roaring 20’s to compare clubs and successes in the present day.
To put it into perspective, the Cardiff poster above put winning division 2 above the FA Cup win in terms of pure achievements. Says it all really.

Getting to 3 fa cup finals is an achievement regardless of what you think! Anyway your a waste of space when it comes to discussing anything so time to leave you muse yourself..
You saying about no seeing 1927 well garauntee you didn't see team winning Mickey mouse cup..

The fact our win was in the past is really irrelevant, it's in the record books as a win, and the record of the only club to take the cup out of England.
Swansea's recent success is relevant too, but is also now in the past. They had seven years in the Premier League, good for them, but it's over now.
As for recent success, when Swansea got promoted they went up via the Play Offs. A comparison would be that we are more successful in the Championship because we got promoted twice, both automatically, one as champions. As Champions we held the Football league Championship Trophy, the same one they used to give to the old First Division winners pre PL.
A downside though is that w have been relegated in our last three seasons in the top flight, 2019, 2014., 1962 and four of the last five seasons, the other being 1956/7. We managed to survive in 1960/61. At least it's never dull with Cardiff City . Look at the last 12 years.
06/7 top of the League for half the season
07/8 FA Cup Final
08/9 In the Play Offs most of the season before dropping out on the last day.
9/10 Play Off Final
10/11 Play Off Semi Final
11/12 Play Off Semi Final & League Cup Final
12/13 Champions
13/14 Relegated
14/15 Boring
15/16 Boring
16/17 Boring. Warnock arrived
17/18 Promoted automatically
18/19 Relagated.
At least we've got mid table mediocrity to look forward to this year. We're not selling our training ground and closing down our Academy (although may as well as it produces nobody). Or up for sale, or selling everybody that can move.

They must have thought down West , we won't win **** all, we'll hang around the Second and Third Division and then wait until they create the Fourth Division. Sod the Cup too. And then we'll wait until they invent the internet and keep bleating on about being the only team in Wales to have more than one season in the top flight recently.

I’m not claiming the opposite, where have I denied you won the cup?
What I said (for the thousandth time) is, winning a cup in the 20’s matters to nobody other than yourselves. Had you won the FA Cup in the modern era then who knows maybe I would be a little envious although it isn’t a trait I tend to have. Winning something in an era none of us were alive in is irrelevant to me and most other fans of other clubs. I couldn’t give a monkeys that Huddersfield won the league twice or Bury won the Fa Cup twice, makes no difference to me.
Please note I said irrelevant to “me” and not “you”, I realise you lot will feel it is relevant. So be proud, talk about it with interest for what it was, but do pretend others care or find it relevant in today’s comparisons. I really can’t put it any simpler than that.

Try to put weight to your reasoning, or you make yourself look stupid.

Accusations of stupidity more often than not, if not always, come from a lack of understanding on the part of the accuser. In this instance I would assume that is no exception.
So, after reading your post, does that mean you are jealous of our major cup win that you were alive to experience and the legacy it has left in keeping with the Premier League years? Because your logic suggests we are you local rivals and therefore must be jealous - so if I must be jealous over something that happened over a decade before Hitler came to power - then God knows how you feel about what’s happened over the last decade![]()
But anyway. My point remains, I am yet to see, hear or experience anyone talking about the win in the 20’s with envy and only amusement. That’s just the truth of it.

yes that is the truth...why would you talk about a 1927 cup win at all ? AT ALL ?
why with amusement ? its not funny. which then only really leaves envy coloured up as humour...

Folly to assume anything at all in life. And I didn’t say you were stupid, but that you make yourself look so. I shouldn’t have to explain it. A child can see, and the exception stands.
You really must improve your skills to debate. And stop being so silly on such a regular basis. It lends poor reference to decent supporters of Swansea City.

Well I don’t tend to, I am only discussing it now due to the thread. I guess it’s the same question as to why do you talk about the “swim away”?
When I do see, hear people talking about it then it is usually as part of a conversation as to why “x,y,z fan” thinks the club is bigger, better and using it in modern day terms - hence the amusement as that is quite funny. I put it in the same box as the “playing in a capital city” thing, I don’t think I have ever met anyone who wishes we played in a capital city.
