Nelson is a league one standard centre back who is on a good run of form. He has been caught out of position a few times but has got away with it. When it comes to a choice of Bamba , morrison and flint then Nelson should be 4th choice in reality . But he does deserve his place at the moment he has done really well but the question is can he keep it up

Nelson has been more consistent than any of our centre backs so I don’t quite get how you can say he’s 4th choice :?
As for being league one standard then you’re very wrong, if he’s league one standard then Flint is league two
Nelson for me is the first defensive name on the team sheet. Of course he’s going to be caught out of position sometimes just as the rest of our defenders, if he was the perfect defender then he’d be playing in the premier league with a better team than us.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m so glad you’re not our manager :D

Because he uses the old chestnut - ‘he gets caught out of position’!
What defensive player doesn’t from time to time if you analyse every goal conceded? Especially in the championship.

Personally, I’d like to see Bamba and Nelson given a run.

Take the rose tinted glasses off and watch the goals back paying attention to Nelsom at all times and his positioning.
Just like Etheridge and Glatzel people only want to see the good parts and ignore the bad .

The one thing I don’t do is watch City with rose tinted glasses on. I’ve watched them for far too many years for that. I’m objective and will criticise when needed.

Perhaps you should see the bigger picture instead of having a downer on a particular player and never seeing the good things.

I have no issue with Nelson. He has played brilliantly for a player stepping up in standard. What I said was I believe he is and will be 4th choice when everybody is fit. I cant see how he is not to be honest.
Is he really going to get picked before a new £6million signing in Flint , Club captain in Morrison and Big fan favourite In Bamba ?

I believe Harris will go for experiance like he did first chance he got against Leeds.

You used the argument that Nelson has only played league one until now so if you base the argument on that, then what I said stands its ground surely unless it dont suit the agenda you have with certain players. Dont forget Etheridge won POTY last season and was linked with PL sides.
Smithies only played because Etheridge was injured and as soon as Etheridge was fit, he had his place back.

Back to point
Nelson is aggressive and has pace, also he is dangerous at set plays, and for myself he will only get better given the chance. Maybe he could play right back as he is comfortable on the ball and deserves his place right now.

Anyway it's all about opinions

Fair enough and that’s a better argument than the old - he gets caught out of position - view, as like I say there’s not a defender that doesn’t.

I don’t think Harris is under any pressure whatsoever to play Flint because of his price tag but I wouldn’t mind a pairing of Nelson/Bamba or Nelson/Morrison personally.

Flint wins everything in the air but on the ground against more mobile attackers is his failing.
