Re: ‘ Cardiff players showing Harris they are worth keeping

I was especially pleased for Glatzel on Saturday.

He had a slow start and most fans were starting to lose faith, including myself.

It's just one goal obviously but it should do wonders for him confidence.

Madine and Glatzel could work very well together. Madine is good in the air and Glatzel is good with his feet.

Agree with all of them, bar Glatzel. I believe he will come good, especially if paired with Tomlin. :old: :bluebird:

Fair enough , I just have not seen anything in Glatzel to show he is even anywhere near capable of playing at this level let alone be our main striker. He is 4th choice at the moment behind 3 pretty average players. That says it all

Glaztel is clearly not 4th choice, and not seen anything of him ? Played his first game under Harris and scored maybe he actually plays well when he isn’t isolated up front on his own like under warnock :)

He cant head the ball
He cant shoot
He cant hold it up
And he cant pass
Four basic must haves for a striker
He works hard I'll give him that but he is a poor quality striker at this level
He missed chance after chance for Warnock before he went into hiding.

I dont watch city through rose tinted glasses , if Glatzel played for another team I'd be happy with his name on the team sheet against us as he is no threat. Even his goal on the weekend was a debatable miss kick.

Even in our promotion season our strikers struggled for goals. Warnocks system means our strikers were always totally isolated. I wouldn't judge his ability based on his performances under Warnock because the majority of the team were pretty poor to be honest. He is not that good in the air but from what I have seen he is pretty good with the ball at his feet and he links up well with the other players when he actually has support. If he had connected cleanly with that shot the chances are it would have hit the keeper given how close he was, but he scuffed it under him instead, luckily. Regardless of the finish he still anticipated the flick from Tomlin and made the run- not sure our other strikers would have. He has missed a few sitters but at least he gets into the right positions. I think him an Tomlin could play well together given a run of games- hopefully anyway.

Pretty much agree.

He’s also come from a different country, different style of playing completely. To go from that to playing the Warnock way must have been a bit of a shock to say the least. He must have wondered what the f**k was going on!

I’ve seen top end, top class players take a season to adjust before playing to their full potential.

You cant blame not being able to kick a football on not settling.
The chances he has missed were shocking at times. That's not adjusting that is not being capable. Madine and Ward would have both scored most of the chances he missed.
I still dont see anything in him to suggest he was worth the fee paid and in honesty it wouldnt suprise me if he was shipped back to Germany either January or the summer

It’s a good job you’re not the manager
Oh yes, remind me just how many goals Madine has scored for us.
Glatzel will come good and he won’t be shipped anywhere. Mark my words

Glatzel came and imo has struggled with the pace and strength of the game. Theres no doubt he is a clever footballer and he will get stronger and quicker the more time he has on the field.
Some of our fans write off players too quickly and just like to have a moan without looking at the bigger picture

That’s what I was thinking - ‘Madine would have scored them’

Anyway, it’s all about opinions even though Thomas is a bit like roathy and he thinks he can’t be wrong.

I admit when I'm wrong,
I said Bacuna was shit and I was right.
I said Flint was a good signing and I was wrong.
I said Vaulks was shit and I was right
I said Glatzel was a poor player and I'm being proven right at the moment
I said Whyte was poor but he has impressed me.

The Madine part was a bit to guess in cheek but instill think he is a lot better than Glatzel. Everyone says I'm wrong about him but cant say why apart from he needs time.
This is a very important season and we cant be carrying people who need time.

Opinions mate.
We all get some right and some wrong, no difference to Warnock I guess!
