A lot like Hughes, Coleman let the squad grow old and didn't look outside his preferred selection. Giggs has done the work and brought in so many new faces and in my opinion the squad looks great.

He has done a good job but hes also blessed with the best squad of players Wales has ever had and probably the easiest group we've ever had in all honesty.

Credit to him but any manager should have been able to get that squad out of the group and it would have been a huge failure if we didnt

Well that's obviously nonsense  weren't we top seed last tournament. You really talk nonsense

Giggs has brought into this squad many players we have never seen and put his faith in youth.

Yes but when was the last time young welsh players like the ones we have now coming from Man utd and Chelsea plus other Premier league teams.
Our last group was much harder than this one. I would rather play Slovakia and Hungary than Belgium and Bosnia. Plus away trips to Israel and Cyprus.

This one is far harder than previous qualification simply because all teams except Azerbaijan were of equal standing and it proved as teams took points of each other! tonight was only Giggs 16th game so hardly any pre taunement games to get team together... you are coming across as anti Giggs no matter what? Just give giggs the credit he deserves

I gave Giggs credit he has done well. But it would have been a bigger failure to not qualify as it is not a hard group matter how you dress it up. We are far better than Hungary and Slovakia and it showed when it mattered

I suppose this shows that managers need a little time to bed in and to get the team playing in a particular way. I hope City fans have a bit of patience while our new manager settles in.

Well done Wales

Tough group.
Players blooded.
Mostly a new side from Colman/Euros.
Ramsey out for a year.
Striker from Wigan.
Exciting football.

Great Management to be fair
Whatever your issues are with Giggs.

Your point might have some value if you hadn't left off the fact that Croatia (World Cup Finalists last year !!) were also in this group so, actually, it was just as hard if not harder. Couple that with the fact that the squad was getting too old and needed a manager to come in with a plan to reduce the age but also qualify for a major tournament at the same time.

I wasn't keen on the Giggs appointment but it did seem he was probably the best of the few options at the time.

He's certainly won me around and actually this team plays better football than the Coleman era. He's also been brave and made tough decisions like dropping the captain.

The signs were there when they got the draw away against Croatia when they looked a real team and were hardly troubled by a top side.

Giggs has also moulded a squad so that we can still get results even without the top names. Ramsey has hardly played, Bale has missed games, Allen too and Brookes, arguably our best young player, has also missed the key games. Yet he still ground out results, particularly toward the end of the qualifiers.

I doubt we'll achieve what we did in the last Euros but nobody will look forward to playing us and if we can keep our best players fit then it could be a great summer !

So hats off to Giggs, this achievement is petty special and he deserves just as much credit, if not more, than Coleman got when we qualified last time. Also, whilst you may not like him personally, he's from Cardiff and Coleman is from Swansea :laughing5:

We are not far better than teams mentioned especially when you consider bale Ramsey never played together this qualification until last night and constantly had other important
players like brookes missing ect ect... he totally revamped team brought in some unknown players like more ? Group so easy Azerbaijan drew away to Croatia that was an easy team to play away! Giggs had 4 games to sort out an aging team left by Coleman before this group started and what makes
his achevment all the more creditable is the young age of the team compared to the experience of opposition....thumbup:

Very true! been there to witness the debarcles over the years! Just don't get this it was an easier group part? What was easy about playing any of the teams in group? Some of Players maybe in premier league but how many games have they actually played? Can only say this team can do well in next world qualifaction competition given their age now.

its not the best team Allen.. the 13 last night included 1 who is currently playing in lge 1...4 players who a regulars in the championship..3 players who have each only made 3 starts for their club in the prem..and a young boy who has played 48 mins on loan in germany and is yet to start a prem game for his parent club...

BEST...…..its the best effort for discrediting Giggs on this board,,,

I know people may not have wanted him as manager but he as done what us fans wanted and it as been a good achievement under the circumstances! We look like a team and tbh far better playing style than Colemans ...

Happy to put my hands up and admit Giggsy’s proved me wrong. Do worry how we’d set up without Kieffer Moore though because I don’t think Vokes is up for the role

I agree with you. This is a golden generation who may well suprise a few in 2020.
