Re: Shocking Appointment - answers needed- feel let down

As the dust settles its starting to make sense.

Every business has succession planning, there has probably been a fluid list with pro's and cons from week to week. I always thought that Gary Rowlett would be a good fit but he may have come off that list when he went to Millwall.

It wouldn't require that much of a change, the stuff we played in the first half of the promotion season was great. Poor recruitment for whatever reason made us go more and more route one.

The million dollar question is what does Harris want to do. Millwall are a L1 club in the championship, they don't belong here but they are somehow here. Did he have the services of Junior Holliet, Murphy or NML to call upon ?

"Harris is not exactly talked about as a pioneer of modern football or an up and coming manager with great ideas, he is not a man talked about as having progressive ideas" Do we really know ? Malky was a former Centre half form Watford it nover shouted "progressive"

He is here now, I think we'll all give it a go.

Home and away I'll be there

Sadly, I'm not too sure Charlie Cairoli (above) has any idea either, mate. Just more rollocks from him

I fully see the point(s) you made and have a certain empathy for them

What we need to understand is that this process essentially started some time ago when the Board were considering parting with Neil Warnock (not the other way around)

I am a huge Warnock fan and 'Arris appointment just goes to show what we may come to miss. However, it is known that the club were ready to remove him on at least two occasions in the last 18 months; once after promotion to the Premier League and again after the Sala incident

On each occasion, the club pulled back and this season they held on in the hope the miracle of 2018 would be repeated

It wasn't, the manager said this would be his last (at this club at least), the vultures immediately started circling and from that point (maybe before) he was on a hiding to nothing

I doubt we will hear anything but platitudes from the club, as they will be 'happy' that (a) the previous (popular) manager has gone, and (b) it looks (on the surface at least) that it was solely the manager's decision

A sad ending to what for me, was a perfect fit for club and fans whilst it lasted

Having analysed the supposed manager search / appointment over last few days I can only assume circumstances have been out of the clubs control. Appointing / searching for any manager takes 7 days plus. Out the managers mentioned by social media or the bookies only one interview had taken place with Neil Harris a bookies favourite from the outset ? Why ? Cardiff had lots of options passed on to the owners. Why didn’t the interviews take place ?

In my opinion Cardiff have had many months to settle the transfer debt and will now face a minimum 3 window transfer ban followed by cost including the debt on top. Unless Cardiff pay the debt restrictions may continue. Yesterday’s appointment was in my opinion an appointment to weather the storm. Why don’t Cardiff pay the Transfer Fee ? Irrespective what owners are worth maybe they don’t have the funds available to pay. A bumpy road ahead.

Why would that be then....billionaire owner, Sky TV money from last season, parachute money this season... close to 20 million quid for the sale of Zohore and Reid?

Underwhelmed, but I have been concerned about the way CCFC is run since the day John Toshack was sold. Get set for a long stint in the shadow of SCFC

And have overcome a tragedy.

Erikson, Ranieri and Rogers with a cameo from Nigel Pearson certainly shows ambition.

i thought most fans wanted a change of style but if neil had any say in the appointment there you have it, same style manager just younger and on the dole.

Agree with you mate.warnock had his eye on another job wasnt working out here so jumped off a sinking ship.
I liked warnock but he made a massive mistake announcing his retirement early. Then made another mistake buy leaving to early he should of gone at the start of the season.
I have a feeling warnock recommend Harris as his replacement so it was just formality to go get him.
It's all a mess and in hindsight the club should of told warnock to do one at the start of the season .he even said let's get to christmas see how it's going not what you want to here is it.
I find the appointment like most others do as odd keep questioning have I missed something its an add one when better placed managers are to to get .
They haven't got a good record with appointing managers and it looks like the got it wrong again.
Will our club suffer we will have to wait and see we might just all be wrong
Hes got the job we have to back him or well all sink that's a fact we all no .
It's an odd one though to say the least isnt it

Not sure what that means? Are you crying or something? If so don't.

We still have a team to support which is and always will be the focal point but if you think my post is 'out of context,' pull me up on it and what I have said thats wrong and I'll debate it with you rathee than being a snide c**t eh

Have I hit a nerve with you ?

The club has made the decision whether we like it or not, and if you think anyone in the club listens or will explain the appointment to the fans then that wont happen. And for the record, I am not too excited by Harris.

It's time for us fans to just support the club and not to question the clubs decision

I am still more concerned why Warnock left, he has had worse starts and he would have turned it around maybe not to get us promoted but he would have got it better.

He would not worry about a few boo boys or people on here saying we need better football blah blah

No Warnock went because of something much deeper the sala business which is putting us in a bid light as a club
and the people who run the club it was going to happen sadly.

I am not thrilled with excitement with the appointment of Harris but want him to prove me wrong and take us up but my concern is the owners the board etc is why Warnock left

Appointment of managers is nothing to do with fans unless club is fan owned we are not so thats that! Cant say ever heared of fans having say in who's next manager that is upto the owner and others, we as fans just do what we do and give who ever is in charge full support and live in hope that he can give us what we want and time will tell on that score. :old:

A little yes as I don't like snide people.

If you had just answered as you have above there wouldn't have been an issue but c'est la vie.

Dont get this post? Some mangers appointed following day just depends on situation? Who knows which names were in the running for vacancy? As for transfer ban ffs hasnt he read this forum previously if he as would know why not been paid? Seems some fans have convinced themselves that the ban as been officially set for January not sure why .. :old:

This is exactly what I was thinking. Warnock’s heart just didn’t seem in it this season, and I feel like he was bidding his time for the Hearts job. What really annoys me is him saying he would like to manage Hearts while he was still in charge of us.
