I'm intrigued as to how this is Slade part 2. (Slade was our best boss out of the 3 before NW considering we finished 8th whilst cutting all of the deadwood in his only full season, compared to Ole and Trollope but he gets the most stick for it?)
Not my first choice by any means, but he got Millwall to a play off final, then took them up the following year, then kept them up twice with only free transfers and consistently selling their better players. Millwall fans also boo passing football, so anyone who takes that job has to play a certain way. Doesn't mean he will do the same thing here.
Give the bloke a chance before you throw him under the bus.

It's not a bus they've thrown him under before he starts it's a steamroller!

I will go on record and say it wont be Harris. It's all smoke and mirrors from the club as for one point, he doesn't fit the more offensive coach Dalman said they wanted.

The drifting odds this morning certainly do not point towards the fact that's it's a done deal.
Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:41 pm
lets be honest thats a shit appointment
Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:41 pm
Who ever is the best Cardiff manager I will give my 100% backing
Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:44 pm
not sure where your getting that from it could still well be him but its not a done deal
Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:44 pm
If true, massively underwhelming appointment, huge opportunity missed to get a caretaker in, who knows who will be available in the summer? Could we have missed out on some real quality by waiting.?
I will get behind him of course, and still prefer this to Mr Warnock staying on. But reinvention, evolution and revolution needed not tentative and gradual change, would have preferred Flynn over Harris.
But I just don't see how his record has got him this job, but here we go again

Let's not overreact until its confirmed.
Latest odds:
Neil Harris - 8/11
Lee Bowyer - 9/4

His appointment would be the total opposite of everything Dalman said in his interview the other day. Would be stupid to say all that and exciting the fans just to let them down. But what the board at this club say and do is a completely different story, so it wouldn't be a massive shock.

I'm shit with odds as I don't bet. So is Bowyer more likely based on those odds mate? Hope so, really don't want Harris at all

Been told by Wall mates. Harris is a legend but his time as manager he was clueless. The only reason he didn’t get stick was because of who he was. But the tide was starting to turn and when he resigned they were relieved.
A very backward step if you ask me.

I would be as underwhelmed as everyone else by Neil Harris but that said I think his record as a manager for Millwall is better than he is being given credit for. He took them over for the last four games of the season when they were already all but mathematically relegated. Most Millwaal fans reckon they were a complete mess at this point as Ian Holloway had done a very poor job for them.
The following season they finished 4th in league one and got to the playoff final which they lost to Barnsley. The next season they finished 6th also got to the playoff final this time winning it against Bradford. They also got to the quarter finals of the FA cup beating three premier league teams in the process before losing to Spurs. Next season they finished a very creditable 8th in the championship. He obviously resigned this season with them struggling a bit but not obvious relegation candidates.
Considering Millwall are basically a championship club with very little funds who never go any higher and fairly regularly get relegated to league one this is a pretty good record though not obviously brilliant. Maybe he wouldn't be as bad as wethink. Millwall fans would be surprised if he came to us as his entire family come form the east London Essex area and still live there and they would have thought he would be more likely to go to somewhere like Orient or Southend and stay in the area.

what they may gain in lower wages
they will lose in lower gate receipts
Harris offers no better than Warnock - arguably a poor Warnock - no disrespect to Mr Harris.
We haven't had decent football since Dave Moans 2010. Nearly 10 years.
Come on Board and Tan - release us from the dour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it’s Harris then good luck to him, I will fully support him.
Will be a big task, as a lot of the signings made by Neil are average at best.
Will be at Charlton supporting the team.
Hope any boo boys not happy with the new appointment just stay away .. let everyone else enjoy the ride .

I know this place isnt exactly the voice of the fans, but it is an indication of what the general feeling is about this appointment.
Not listening again are they......oh well when crowds plummet again they will maybe see it....

I would be gutted if true, he's not a terrible Manager and would play a similar style so would fit the continuity, but you can already see from this board, our fans wouldn't give him a chance, he would be lucky to last a year!

A family member told me yesterday , he has not. And was at the game with him on Saturday.

If you’re right then yes I’ll support Harris but wouldn’t be enthused and decry a distinct lack of ambition.
Thu Nov 14, 2019 2:26 pm
Very underwhelming if Harris gets the job. I was understanding tan wants more of a say so not sure how he would be happy with harris. His brand of football at millwall was dire
