Of course it’s the right decision.

If there was a chance that he was going to be our manager for the next five years then no it wouldn’t be.

He’s not going to change things around this season so why stay?

who is to say he couldn't turn it around...I honestly cant think of anyone more likely to. not exactly miles off the play offs
I hadn't written off this season until about half an hour ago..

A good time, gives the new manager a bit of time to evaluate what we got and make plans for January.

Warnock definitely deserves massive respect dor what he has done here on the pitch and behind the scenes.

Think announcing its his last season was the big mistake.

People should not be blaming fans This as been on cards and now is right time as any new manager (not current assistants) need time and money to re asess players, I don't believe we are far off challenging for playoffs if we get in couple of defenders ... also does NW stay beyond 3 yrs at any club?

Why are you blaming fans for him going ? I would say NW himself knows hes gone as far as can and the TEAM is not performing as well as should be doing, week after week we are all saying players making same mistakes and NW has not addressed the problems as he? Always best go before pushed he deserved that much...

I can't believe it's actually happened, didn't have much luck this season but could have been a lot worse, really saddened but hopefully we find a good replacement, he's given us a couple mad seasons

When exactly did this happen? I've not heard a "Warnock out" chant at CCS, only the odd moan. Even yesterday there was a "Neil Warnock's barmy army" chant.

Will always have massive respect for Warnock, which I am sure most city fans will have as well, but it is definitely time for change. It is always a risk sticking or twisting on a manager and unfortunately it hasnt worked out this season with Warnock. We simply havnt been good enough and the buck stops with the manager. Looked like he was losing the dressing room as well as some players didnt look interested at all.

Hopefully we have someone lined up already to work with the team over the international break. Hopefully it is not an underwhelming appointment either!

Thank you so much Neil for giving us supporters so many great memories and galvanisng a club that was quickly going downhill. You brought belief back to the supporters, you built the bridge between the club and supporters that had eroded and showed with the promotion that anything, with hard work and application is possible. Everyone, will wish you well in your retirement and I hope that you will still have a place, with some role at the club, as your knowledge, experience and humanity are invaluable to any organisation.

Blaming fans for what the performances this season lol the buck stops with warnock for that apart from 15 mins against sheff wed when we battered them we havE been poor at best same bonkers tactics week in week out same subs week in week out warnock has done wonders for the club but when at start of season we were planning for promotion push and this has been going on it's not good enough and dont say we wasnt cuz theres no way warnock would have stayed on otherwise

Common sense has prevailed, well done City. And the key for me was Neil handing in effectively a seasons notice, that has backfired, and also he has not quite appeared right since the Sala tragedy, like a part of him died too. and that shows what a great human being he is.

I never wanted Neil to stay on after keeping us up. He proved me wrong by winning promotion, credit to him for that, but I have never been a fan of his football, I haven’t enjoyed watching it, so many flaws. his transfer dealings, and I am not happy with the squad he leaves us with, the new man will have a hell of a job with them particularly if hopefully he introduces a different football philosophy to the club.

However, Neil was a credit to the club with Sala’s awful accident. And I have always liked him as a person and a personality , I really wished I liked his management as much.

Bellamy in with experienced side man for the remainder of the season, let’s see if he can be a Gerrard, Lampard etc I believe he can. All the while we keep one eye on other candidates for the summer, if it didn’t work with him. I have a funny feeling it will , he took no prisoners on the pitch, unbelievable passion playing for Wales and us, always looking to get the best out of his colleagues, attacking and flair minded, passion for the academy and grass roots. Let’s be brave and try this fresh appointment.

It’s as simple as Vincent Tan didn’t back Warnock financially, the handling of Emilano Sala dispute has been disgraceful by the club, maybe another reason why Neil Warnock has left the club. Whoever comes in, they will have the same financial constraints,

Whats shocking? I said sky sports mentioned fans .? i was listening as writing this so put it in....... maybe just maybe he decided to go like said you obviously dont think results or performances had anything to do with things but the fans were responsible? in truth he's not been same since sala death and he's decided to go on his terms? Football is a results business and more successful managers than him have been sacked at least he's gone on his terms.

So disappointed that this has happened but at least we've got just under 2weeks to get someone in before the next game. It’ll be interesting to see how a new manager, does with the players available and if he tries to change our style of play. Some of our players will be wondering if they are going to get a regular game under new management.

Always a sad time when such a respected Manager leaves especially when he’s one of the best we’ve had.

The timings right all around whoever comes in has a great foundation to build on.

I think its the right decision.

Relegation, some right dodgy decisions and the Sala tragedy must have affected the squad and Neil. I genuinely believed the day we beat Man U should have been this announcement.

We required a rebuild. Gunnar, Bruno, Camarasa and Arter were always going to be big misses. Bobby Reid must have been a situation he was used to, but if your not 100%, professional sport can be ruthless.

We probably needed a two year Malky plan for this season, but we added squad players. How many of us thought we'd bounce straight back up, it was a minor miracle we were promoted in the first place.

It was starting to feel like Slades season and I wouldn't wish that on anyone

Lets hope after the next six or seven games we are not lower in the league than we are today. If we are, there will be the usual suspects on here calling for whoever takes over to be sacked.

You have made the best decision for everyone

Agreed. Sorry to see him go in this way if it's the end of his managerial career but it was the right decision for both him and the club. Not sure who should replace him. Craig Bellamy would be a big risk as he has never managed before and has a dodgy temperament. Possibly someone like Jonkavic would did a great job at this level for both Watfod and Fulham. Or Mikel Arteta though rumour has it he is being lined up for the Arsenal job if it becomes available. Pulis or Hughton would be safe options but neither was much cop last season and maybe both are approaching their sell by dates. A manager who has done well in the lower divisions can be tempting but can be disastrous. Look at Natan Jones at Stoke and Paul Hurst at Ipawich. Both did brilliantly at Luton and Shrewsbury but were disasters in the championship.

Personally I would go for Jonkavic but as he is at a club in Qutar he is probably on a massive salary and would cost a fortune to prize away. please god not Blackwell and Jepson new blood is needed.

Good luck Neil & thanks for bringing the club together again and throwing in a totally unexpected and unrealistic Premier League stint.
A bit bitter sweet this one, but. I happen to think the timing is perfect. Just before an International break, 7 weeks or so, before the transfer window opens. This should give a new manager a little time to look at the squad, a change normally creates an instant positive reaction, a couple of players should be back from injury.
A good appointment, a positive reaction, with players having to prove themselves to a new manager....... Who knows?

I can see him in a new job within the week.

I deeply hope this doesn't hurt us badly as I didn't want Warnock to go and he didn't want to go the trouble is we have the wrong people running the club but many on here got what they wanted .

1 dalman wanted to own another club so his heart is not in this he picked Ole the last time we could be for a long bad road
I am now dreading the season I hope I am wrong.

He took this club that was going to league 1 and took us to the Premiership then he didn't get the support for players and then
we finally get a player and disaster strikes and all the crap now that has followed it with the money issue I am really sad
how Warnock has gone very sad he not just improved the success of the club he got the club together when it was falling apart

While I don't think it's the wrong decision I hope they get the right replacement. Haven't seen many names linked who I think can do better.

I've said before about his poor transfers and sometimes poor selections but I still think it's a sad day and I really wish he has gone out on a high.

I think he has been brilliant for this club, who would have thought we would have had that promotion season or that season in the premier league. Warnock did his best and for me my favourite manager since supporting the club.
