Annis even you must agree toward the end other than the big games the atmosphere was pretty awful at Ninian park.
I think the CCS has turned a corner for atmosphere in the last couple or seasons.
There were many dire atmospheres at Ninian Park, but remember 50 years without real success and in the new stadium virtually 10 years of glory .
New stadium has improved vastly until this season, going bad again.
Interestingly Annis I think the worst atmospheres at Ninian were towards the end of its time which was a kind of successful period pushing for promotion. I think the better atmospheres were maybe when we were struggling and had less pressure on us.
Ninian Park in the premiership certainly would have been quite a scene although most the standing would have had to be replaced I think which would have took away from it.
For me I've never been to or seen anything close to the atmosphere we had against Leeds in the FA Cup.
Our fans Luke, always got behind the team when they struggled in them days.
Funny enough Dave Jones failed to lift the fans at Ninian Park due to his attitude.
And remember the last ever game there under DJ, We wore all Whiteand lost 0-3 at home to Ipswich Town, Disgraceful.
Do you know for over 20 years Cardiff hardly ever lost to a top flight team at Ninian Park in a Cup Competition and that was mainly due to the hostile atmosphere.
I have spoken to many ex City players and they loved playing there and opposition players hated it.
Annis when I think of Ninian Park I always think of the two extremes, us V Leeds which was the best and as you say that game v Ipswich which seemed such a low point.
I recently read the Howard Webb book and he mentioned the atmosphere at Ninian Park

That's part of the beauty of british football that we play in any weather. Imagine if our team thought like that ???
It wasn't a "bit of rain.". It pissed down at times. There is a world of difference between playing and watching in a downpour. I cant see getting soaked is somehow an indication of manhood when there is a perfectly good dry alternative. Bit like those Geordies who freeze their whatsits off in Tshirts in the middle of winter to prove their virility. You are probably too young to remember that when we played at Ninian Park and before the seats were put in virtually everyone would move up under the Bob bank roof when the rain got bad. Atmosphere used to be electric as a result. Only a very very few stayed where they were.
What is your point exactly? You buy seats near the front few rows and you get wet. If you know its gonna rain and you are going to complain about it why turn up. We have got soaked countless times over the years. Get some waterproofs and check the forecast.
I cant even believe this is a topic really. It's not like they are going to put a millennium stadium room on. What next...heaters because we are getting cold...windbreakers because of the wind. Laughable
The point being that there is a 4,000+ seater stand, all under cover, not being used in pissing down rain. Perhaps if people knew that they could use it a few more would turn up. There must have been loads who didn't last week because of the weather because despite the official figure I doubt if there was more than 15,000 there. And there will probably even fewer next time the weather is bad. If you want to sit out in the rain that's your affair, but don't decry a sensible point just because you think everyone else has to put up with it. And as I mentioned in my opening post it doesn't affect me because I am at the back in the Canton, but it does concern me that the club could do more to encourage people to turn up in dreadful conditions. I don't see what is "laughable"in that.
