This could end up being painful, WBA could be 3 up by now if not for Smithies.

Smithies made some superb saves for Cardiff to keep the score down.

Whyte just had a shot saved

More great play from Whyte, who intercepts a pass in midfield before driving forward and fizzing a low shot, but it is saved well by Johnstone.

Some sustained pressure here from West Brom and the ball falls to right back Darnell Furlong, who is cutting in from the flank. He sends a shot goal-bound, but it smacks Joe Bennett in the face and goes out for a corner, but the left back stays down.

Phillips whips in a brilliant corner and Semi Ajayi gets a head on it. It looks to be falling into the path of Diangana, who is unmarked at the back post, but he can’t get a foot on it.

Thank god for smithies. Having an a Stormer for us today. Could easily be dead and buried by now. We are having a bit of a lesson today.

Oh my goodness. Smithies again makes an incredible save. Diangana, who has been a nuisance all afternoon so far, breaks into the box and fires a low cross. Charlie Austin gets another toe on, this time from three yards, but the keeper keeps him at bay again. That is truly remarkable from Smithies.

This is F-ing pathetic. I don't care that we're only a few points from automatic or playoffs, I hate our playstyle.

2-0

It could be 5

2-0 oh well I did predict that WBA would finish top this season.

Hopefully get back to winning ways after the break.

Always to negative away from home need to press teams higher up the pitch.

This is what happens when you give quality teams all the possession. It's not f*cking rocket science. Awful style of play and we'll get a few spankings this year

Anyone who has watched WBA & Cardiff play this season could only really go for a home win. They look a far better footballing side than us, and it was always hard to see anything other than a comfortable 3 points for the hosts. Expected nothing from this game, anything other than a defeat was always going to be a bonus.

Totally agree, they have an abundance of talent, we are very poor compared to WBA

The result mid week massively flattered us. Reality check today we are still way short of a promotion challenging side.. I'd shut up shop now and just take a two nil defeat. Losing away at WBA is no disgrace.

I’m pretty sure that West Brom are the best team in this division this season. There is not much between the next 15 teams! (Of which we are 1) :bluescarf:

We will still be top 6 come the end of the season and they will win the league. Whilst many of the sides up their at the moment including the Jacks wont even make the playoffs.

But what's the excuse? Why are West brom who failed in the championship playoffs last year who's main signings have been loans and our striker that they don't even play, better than a Cardiff side who supposedly started building this championship 'promotion' team over a year ago in the premiership according to Warnock saying "we'll do what Burnley did". Yet we have a HUGELY weaker squad than the season we got promoted. Why are we just admitting defeat before the game starts and 'acknowledging' that they have a better team than us, why do they? Wtf has Warnock been doing in the last 3 Transfer windows that's made him go from "we'll go back to the premiership more prepared" to mid table mediocrity with the odd battering from some teams (when we didn't get battered ONCE when we got promoted). I feel like pulling my hair our at how we've built this team and how the club's gone about it. Absolutely no planning seems to have gone into these windows, it honestly feels we sell who wants to go, and then worry about key players last day of the season who may or may not be better than what we have. Sorry for the rant, just so frustrating especially when we have games like this that puts our last 3 transfer windows into perspective

Thanks to Smithies we are only 2-0 down. I want to be positive and say we can get back into this, but I can’t see it happening.

The game is changing even in the championship. Managers are instructing their players to play and back them when they make a mistake

I have never cared about possession stats, its what you do with it when you have it. We launch it, i don't really care about that, its the lack of any accuracy and the fact the lad up front can't do anything with it anyway so we hand over possession to the opposition. In days past they would knock it long and we 'd head it back and there'd be a scramble in midfield. Now they try to play and bypass our strategy.

We are where we are. Warnock has saved the club, so i am forever grateful. We barely have a top half squad, but the Warnock factor may get us top 6. Its a big jump from the German second tier to ours, so i haven't lost hope for Glatzel. I can see him coming good in the last quarter of the season.

Diangana off, Edwards on. Peltier will be pleased.

Hes playing well but we never get anybody close enough to him so he wins it in the air with nobody around him.

Agreed, Warnock buys battlers and never say die players.

Warnock does not have the money these other managers get given.

Clubs like Albion, have a team way above us in class.
