' BAD NEWS FOR CARDIFF CITY STRIKER '

Vassel, Madine, Tomlin is culmulatively an awful lot of striker, transfer fee and wages to be second, third or fourth choice behind the big German and the ever largening Scot. In a system playing playing one striker and as many wide men Sir Neil can get on pitch and bench. And thats without Bogle and Ward though Wards games are as injury effected as Jazz and Vassells in recent seasons.

As Neil has aluded to (another topic) he was injured playing for the u 23's,not in traning,and it was 2.5m for Vassell, hardly big money ffs,maybe 10 yrs ago,but in the championship of today,it's a pittance really.

Imagine if we had paid say 8m for him,let's say like west brom paid us for Zohore, and he hadn't scored (from open play)then I'd agree,zohore cost them over 3 times what Vassell cost us,but only one goal more (albeit both penalties ).

We play one striker and Sir Neil has continually demonstrated his loyalty to his picks. We have signed many strikers and his favoured back up I still believe is Paterson who seems to be found a role no matter what.

Pittance or not, its a fee and a wage that the overwhelming majority of fans would likely prefer to see better used on several other positions. We are bereft of full back cover and light in midfield.

Guess you're a glass half empty kind then it's a long and arduous season,with many many games to come,a couple of injuries and we may well have to use him,but how you can judge his worth to the team,with minimal game time under his belt I don't know and no I don't rate paterson in that role either,tomlin has been unfortunate with his car accident coming at just the wrong time,just my opinion of course,do you really believe that we could have picked up a better defender or midfielder for the outlay on Vassell? I don't.
