Greta who blames the older generations for a mass extinction that she believes she will be a victim but my generation, but when I was a kid I remember we was much more environmentally friendly that these kids think they are. We used milk bottles delivered by electric vehicles that was re used. Fizzy drinks was done exactly the same way, we re used egg cartons over and over again, We all walked to School even if it was miles away in snow rain sun or hail.
Now this generation never walk to school they very rarely go out to play but rely on electric consumption to keep them amused.
Now Greta. our Earth is 4.543 billion years old and we have had around five ice ages and five mass extinctions and back then no one drove 4x4s or had coal fired power stations.
Our planet is changing all the time it’s the way the mop flops. We will have another ice age and mass extinctions again but you driving your 4x4 will not be to blame. But every time a volcano erupts puts more crap in the air than anything man has ever done.
Now say what they say is true ? It’s the establishment who are to blame with the black gold being to blame but then they can dare to blame us the people.
Now where there is a problem and that is plastic, this is caused by the big business and again nothing to do with us. Everything is packaged, milk is in plastic containers, and here we have a massive problem.
But the problem with Greta and her brainwashed like they don’t yet see the manipulation the lies that come from the establishment. They haven’t worked out yet that Climate change to the establishment is raising taxes and creating a money making empire for their like.
Over the next twenty or so years we will see the result of our brainwashed youth who will believe everything that the establishment tell them, and what they don’t realise when you believe in the madness they are being taught, they will be very easy to control.
It’s not far away from a North Korea type scenario where they believe there leader is a god and that there supreme leader won 12 gold medals at the last Olympics.

I can't believe that any ordinary person could be daft enough to go against the overwhelming evidence outlined by today's scientists. I'm not an expert but I can see that the planet cannot take for much longer the amount of poison being put into the air, the sea and the ground from the waste products of more than 7 billion people. Not to mention the deliberate destruction of the Amazon rain forest (in the name of profit). Carbon monoxide from vehicles is killing people who suffer from asthma and other respiratory problems, sea levels are rising and arctic ice is melting faster than ever known before. Bury your head in the sand if you want to but i trust science more than i trust idiots like Trump and Farage. Capitalism is based upon, and can only be sustained by, continuous growth and continuous growth, unless checked, will ultimately destroy the planet.
I'm sorry but I just don't buy your version of events. And your comparison to the Nazis is bizarre in my view. No offence meant...I just don't share your views.

There seems to be a lot of confusion here generally, starting with the puppet Thurnberg herself. Why she should stare at Trump is anybody’s guess.. she has no cause to do. He’s not responsible for global warming. It is plain rudeness and stupidity.

Same goes as riding high horses when the OP suggests similarities to Nazi propaganda methods, and is shouted down by people comparing this to holocaust. People need to turn their ‘angry’ filters off, and stop confusing separate items of information.

Propaganda methods used by the Nazis is not Nazism.

More akin to Nazism, are your lack of proposals for birth control. Who decides who lives or dies, or who has a baby? Do we withdraw vital medicines, or introduce castration? Does the state promote suicide?

Tell us how it will work?

Exactly as I said before I can’t help it if people cannot see the context of what I wrote. Nothing to do with what the Nazis did just there method of getting there propaganda out. When these Liberals are constantly calling people Nazis or fascists that’s ok for them to bring it up. Amazing, so staring at Trump is “rude” !! Trump has no respect for anyone or anything other than money.

He dismisses anyone with an opposite opinion to him as crazy, stupid or rude. Therefore Trump can’t moan about being disrespected himself.

The Labour Party has been using this mindset for a few years now - convincing the younger generation, who have never voted or lived through a left leaning Government that their policies will bring prosperity to all.

But many of us oldies remember Labour in the Seventies (winter of discontent, rubbish piled up, rats, etc etc) and Gordon Brown's Government (no Money left, sorry note).

Tories may not be perfect but as always - Labour F--k the Country and Tories have to fix it - and so it goes on !

:old:

Rinse and repeat. Labour overspend particularly on public sector, Tories squeeze till economy is back on even keel.

This poor kid is a cynically used puppet. I fear for her psychological well being.

Gretas parents are both communists pictured wearing antifa t-shirts.
I'm a bit of a tree hugger in secret but many of these campaigners are using this emotive topic of a depleting natural world to further their extreme political agenda. Which usually involves over throwing capatalism, traditional gender roles and reverting to a form of communism/socialism.
In the absence of actual spirituality and Religion, enviromentalism and communism is quenching man's thirst for a deity.
Is hardcore enviromentalism becoming a mental illness?

Great post, you only have to see how many of the groups at “climate change” rallies are Uber Leftwing, SWP. Momentum, Antifa. This has more to do with extreme left politics than a genuine concern for children’s future.

Someone sent this to me,I’d love to belt it out on a loud hailer the next time there’s a protest.

To all the school kids going on 'strike' for Climate Change:
You are the first generation who have required air-conditioning in every classroom.
You want TV in every room and your classes are all computerised.
You spend all day and night on electronic devices.
More than ever, you don't walk or ride bikes to school but arrive in caravans of private cars that choke local roads and worsen rush hour traffic.
You are the biggest consumers of manufactured goods ever and update perfectly good expensive luxury items to stay trendy,
Your entertainment comes from electric devices.
Furthermore, the people driving your protests are the same people who insist on artificially inflating the population growth through immigration, which increases the need for energy, manufacturing and transport.
The more people we have, the more forest and bushland we clear and more of the environment is destroyed.
How about this...
Tell your teachers to switch off the air-con.
Walk or ride to school. Switch off your devices and read a book.
Make a sandwich instead of buying manufactured fast food.
No, none of this will happen because you are selfish, badly educated, virtue signalling little 'princesses', inspired by the adults around you who crave a feeling of having a 'noble cause' while they indulge themselves in Western luxury and unprecedented quality of life.
Wake up, grow up and learn to research facts and think for yourself and not blindly accept the words and thoughts of others - I don't think you formulated this action plan all by your self - suspect you may have had some influence and 'guidance' from those you trust ....a word of warning, be cautious of the influence of the 'left' because there may be a time in the future that you will be the ones left out...

Nobody has compared the girl to Nazis, in fact myself and others explained that to the hard of thinking like yourself. Where are the British children who’re starving to death? As for submissive folk rocking the boat well the majority rocked the boat by democratically voting for Brexit but the establishment are doing everything they can to subvert that. Finally why would anyone’s position on climate issues be described as right or left wing ?

She is protesting to make the world a healthier and a more sustainable place to live for herself and future generations. What is wrong with that? I really don't understand people who actively try and discourage people from doing the same.
Even if she did take a private jet, the potential environmental benefits of her actions will far out weigh her carbon footprint. Do you expect her to live in a mud hut in the dark and eat grass because she is an environmental activist?

The world naturally heats up and cools down. What is not natural is the rapid rate at which climate change is being accelerated by industry. Both are scientific facts. You can not pick and choose when to use science to suit your opinion. The majority of global emissions are produced by a small number of companies. If they weren't so profit driven, or if governments were more willing to impose sanctions on those companies or if more investment was made into renewable energy sources, it would have massive beneficial impacts on the environment. It would definitely have more of an impact than the average person recycling yogurt pots and cycling to work. But money talks.

The emphasis the younger generations are putting into sustainability is urgently needed and will only be a good thing in the long run. If you feel that change is not needed and are perfectly happy for companies to burn fossil fuels, pump massive amounts of CO2 into the environment and to cut down rainforests for massive profit then you are part of the problem and are the reason why she is blaming the older generations for not doing enough.

Of all the things you see in the news at the moment that make you angry, I don't think a child protesting for sustainability should be at the top of the list.

The environmental benefits of her actions?

Which actions are these? given a president a deathly stare?

Yes mate. The ultimate aim of her environmental campaign was to do that. Absolute tool. Have a read what she stands for and how it would benefit the environment. Don’t think too hard though, don’t hurt yourself.
