I think it's as strong as any in the division now (on paper). Of course there's still time to further improve it...

When I think back to this time two years ago, my thoughts were that Ok we have a tidy squad and we should have a reasonable season, we could be just scraping into the place-offs the bookies had us down for a mid-table team.

So wind that clock forward to now, the quality, depth and experience is up on a different level, we face the season with strong leaders on the pitch, a rock solid defence, pace up top with potential goals right across the front line, a massive height advantage at set pieces, a hunger from the squad to get back up and most importantly the best promotion manager EVER for whom everyone is determined to give him that swansong he craves, this coupled with the fanatical rapport between the team and the fans means that in my book anything less than top two would be a failure, WE WILL GO BACK TO THE LAND OF MILK AND HONEY :occasion5: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

My only concern is expectations to be honest.

Warnock likes to play the underdog and play everything down and he will try to do the same but expectations are a lot higher than other seasons under him.

Part of me thinks he enjoys the sinking ships and turning things around.

I just hope our fans give the team a little time. I think the squad is good and should be top 6 but it won't be easy and I think we are still lacking in certain areas.

The 1st 11 is good enough but the squad is still lacking quality back up for our midfield and strike force.

I predict just missing out on the playoffs.

Just like in the Premier League, in terms of team cohesion I think we are up there with anyone in the league. But unlike the Premier League, we also have one of the best teams in terms of quality in the league.

I am happy with what we have, hopefully we get a couple more in and really go for it! Very happy though, with our team.

Always a tough league, and not going to be easy. No point in slating manager and players when we lose, because in a division where most teams are capable of beating each other, we are going to be beaten from time to time. It's how we react to those defeats that counts.

Folk raving about of our squad. We lack depth in the centre of the park. And we look vulnerable to teams who keep the ball on the floor with a pacey striker who will expose of centre halves pace.
I think we should be looking at top 6 at best.

I would say the squad is definitely good enough, but a good squad doesn't guarantee promotion. The variables of injury, key decisions and a bit of luck also have to be added to the mix.

Warnock has done the right thing in my opinion by off loading Zohore for a very tidy profit, he had his chance and failed to deliver consistently. He's been replaced by the no rhyming Glatzel. Obviously we don't know how it will pan out, and even if we will ever get a song going for this guy given the rhyming handcuffs. He can't do worse than Zohore in the last couple of seasons so does not have to live up to much. He might well be a revelation which will make automatic promotion very probable.

Vaulks will at mnimum be dependable, Flint I believe will be solid and chip in with goals and Whyte, purpourted by some as the next George Best, will thrive at this club.

Midfield aside, we have the same team that nearly defied all odds and survived in the PL last season.. What may be the magic dust, if needed, is a fit, level headed, Lee Tomlin. I know Warnock very rarely forgives, especially after more than one misdameanour! Only time will tell.

What we do have though, which no other Championship side can boast, is a record holding Manager. This is Neil's turf, been here, seen it, done it......multiple times.

Sir Neil is the glue that makes me think top six is very likely, and top two is more than within our grasp. Let's get it on. :bluebird:

Squad is good enough. Not sure about starting 11 though.

Difficult to say i would like to think they are, but its so hard to call until the new players fit in, and if we miss the ones who have gone.

I still think we are short upfront but time will tell on that one.

I think he has a few more surprises up his sleeve before the window closes. A couple quality season long loans may change the whole complexion too

The midfield is weak. The Championship has moved on.
Loads of money been spent.
We will hoover around the top 10 as at best without 1 more forward and 2 quality midfield players
