We can all speak some Spanish when you live here as every day you pick up different words.

But if you don't intergrate then you won't really belong and you won't speak no where near like them.

Newsflash! Not all british born footballers are intelligent enough to speak English, let alone a foreign language just putting it out there, that intelligence is not usually the first thing you think of from all players,some really are as thick as sh@t,and would struggle at attempting to learn a strange language, that's not in any way meant as detrimental, just facts,a lot of people struggle to learn new things (outside school years) don't get me wrong,no doubt there are many footballers that are really intelligent, but not all to use it as a stick to beat a player that has achieved massive success at madrid, is a little harsh.

But surely it's different Annis, he's not likely to live there after he finishes with them, so therefore would have little use for Spanish, with yourself I agree 100% you have decided to forge a new life there,so for yourself and others that choose a new country to live in,its almost imperative to learn as much as you can,to as you say, integrate into yoor new community ,and country.my Aunt who turns 70 has been living in Belize for four years,but has struggled (prob due to age,but she's really bright ) with learning Spanish (creole) other than enough to scrape by,but she says the above"I'm not going to live here forever

Only one thing I have to say here, why should Bale have to stop eating at say 6pm and not go to bed early it has worked for him as a professional footballer. why should he eat his main meal at 10pm just because his teammates do. It is not healthy to eat so late in the night and I would certainly not eat at that time, it puts a strain on the heart and body by doing so. And as for not speaking Spanish it is a complete myth, just used by the Spanish media to have a go at Bale.
