Most people these days carry card, young people pay with contactless on the phone
Credit cards
Debit cards
Apple pay/NFC Payments
Go henry cards
Prepay cash cards
All can be accepted.
Changing to cashless tills isn't wrong it's progress, telling everyone a week before it happens gives people notice and is responsible.
It would only be wrong if no one knew before Saturday.
And to answer the comment why do it all at once and not gradually?
Last season all tills run both cash and card. The club would've analysed the information as what percentages paid cash compared to card and decided on this action.
I applaud the club for moving with the times like most other good modern progressive clubs.

Ok we shall soon see how quieter it goes and how it hurts our young fan base .
Watch for cash areas re-opening, so NO I don’t applaud the club on this daft decision alienating some of our fan base.
So I won’t keep up with the pathetic decision, all over fb youngsters are moaning already.
What about our 14-16 year old followers , we have thousands, cash only.

I can understand why the club has made this decision because it is becoming the "Norm" to use contactless cards these days, however I'm with Annis as I think the club should have talked to fans representatives, Trust or Supporters Club etc, before imposing this on the entire fanbase.
For the vast majority of fans this won't really be a problem but as Annis says "What about our Under 16 " fans? Does anyone really think they ALL have access to a debit card, and as for pre-payment cards forcing kids, or their parents to get them one, puts a further cost on the matchday bill. These cards will almost certainly have transaction fees attached to them which will make the high cost of food and drinks in the stadium even higher.
Ithink the club needs to find a way of selling tokens or a pre-paid stadium card to alleviate any issue for or younger fans, and to do so urgently.

Most prepay cards are free to have and to use some do charge if use cash machine but not on over counter transactions! Yes bit pain to organise but if got several kids can use just the one card and once got one can be used in other places where cash is not used also safer than cash as if lose it just replace it.

I would disagree Pembroke as most pre-paid, if not ALL, have a cost associated with them in one form or another. It could be application fees, monthly fees, renewal fees, transaction fees, inactivity fees even redemption fees.
For the majority of fans this won't be a problem unless or course the telephone lines fail, or the banks IT systems fail and lets face it that happens, I wonder how frustrating that would be on a matchday.

Some merits and some bad points.
What worries me, personally is the fact that it is sooo sooo easy to "tap your card" as a lot of people, especially young people tend to not think it is real money - At least if you hand over paper money you can sort of keep an eye on how much you are spending.
The Wolves idea is good, that they keep 1 till on each counter as cash sales for a while.
I am afraid we will be in a completely cashless society in a few years or even less !
Got any stashed money - get it in a bank now or spend it.

Annis you have point but there are simple ways around it and I'm positive kids/parents would have found same problem at other events or places where cash is no used ? As I've said people will adjust accordingly in time and tbh guarantee lots of teenagers have cards or ability to pay for things on fone already.

Of course. It's not because it's any more difficult. It's a piece of piss. It would be a lot harder to 'live' in today's world without a bank acct or a card.

Times change, you either catch up or get left behind, not being stubborn, being stuck in your ways and refusing to move on isnt being a sheep.
Also if you dont have a bank card how do you get money out?
