Well boro had 2nd best defence in championship he played most games you work it out if he can defend? His overall
goals are fairly good for defender like all players need to be in position to score maybe boro didn't use him that well compared
to Bristol ect ?

An I think we should take Boro fans comments with a pinch of salt. Leeds fans said the same about Bamba he’s done alright.

This must mean we go for a new right back because we can’t rely on Peltier and Jazz to both get through a season.

Or we can use Cameron Cox

Is he good enough?

Not sure but he seems to be highly rated and would only be third choice.

Can’t help but think Morrison and Flint together is a disaster waiting to happen. The amount of times Bamba and Manga has to clean up because of Morrison’s lack of pace. Flint isn’t a bad player but can’t see him as a good replacement for bruno

This is my concern.

Re: " Aden Flint having medical today “

Great piece of business as far as I'm concerned. Experienced defender at this level and you have to add into the deal that Manga wants to go back to France and has 1 year left on his deal so £3m is a fair price. I accept that £6m is double but reading between the lines £2 of that is probably cased on an add on if we go up, in which case I wont quibble an extra £2m. Whose to say he cant do it in the premiership, I didn't think Morrison could either but he didn't come out of last season too badly.

You can’t go thinking he costing us two Mangas. Bruno wants to leave and he’s in his last year of his contract so we’d get nothing if we kept him.

It’s not us swapping a player for another player because we think he’s better. A player wants to leave and we are signing the best replacement available to us.

We’d all rather keep Bruno but it’s just one of those things.

Him and Morrison what a pair of ball playing defenders .lol

Re: " Aden Flint having medical today “

Bruno has been an excellent signing for us and will be fondly remembered. I understand he wants to return to France with his family and at the age of 31 you can’t blame him for that. He has remained loyal to us and signed 2 contract extensions when we needed him, both for a promotion push and then for a season in the Premier League. We need another experienced centre half and Flint fits the bill - he looked pretty good for Bristol City and I’ve always had a good opinion of him. Does Flint still have family down here or near Bristol? Perhaps that’s why he’s coming back here after only a year?

As for Bruno, the only surprise is that he hasn’t gone to a Ligue 1 team, rather than to Guingamp who were relegated last season. Or does he still have family in the area from when he used to play for Lorient (I’m guessing).

A big “thank you” to Bruno Ecuele Manga, once a Bluebird, always a Bluebird.

Where has this bruno wants to leave come from? did he hand a transfer request in? was he refusing to play?

should have just kept him and let him go at the end of the season. instead we bring in yet another 30+ year old expensive signing

No he’s asked to leave we’ve convinced him to stay before it’s only fair he’s allowed this time. We also get three million pound for him that we wouldn’t get next year to go towards replacing him.

Who are these other aged 30+ expensive signings we’ve made by the way I can’t think of any.

Mate stop complaining he hasn't even put a shirt on yet ffs. It was obvious manga had one eye on the door for a few years now, not just the reports and rumours but the late signatures, and one year contracts etc.

We've just sold a 31 year old in the last year of his contract for 3 mill. So essentially only spent between 1-3m on a new player who could turn out to be a great signing for us.

I think even if City insisted on him remaining, he is the sort of bloke who would still give 100%. Like you say, if he wants to go it's only fair that he is released after the service he has given the club. Better to cash in now and allow him to leave which is what he wants according to reports. Be nice to see him stay, but not much point if he wants to return to play in France.

Until he has a couple of poor games for us and then you’ll call him all the c**nts going like you did with Morrison. Wanting him badly injured and out for the season.

If Morrison and Flint reach their championship scoring potential we won’t even need to play with a striker!

Re: " Aden Flint having medical today “

Signing a centre back that scores more goals than any of our strikers is not bad,all we need now is a consistant goal scorer up front.
Maybe the plan is to play 7 defenders who can score, would be cheaper than buying overpriced forwards.

Re: " Aden Flint having medical today “

Thu Jul 18, 2019 4:42 pm

I think it's a very good signing.

May have struggled at Boro, but has been one of the best players in the league every year before that when he's been in this league.

A real goalscoring threat from set pieces and always does a great job up against the big strikers.

Could see a back three of Flint, Morrison and Bamba (Nelson or Cunningham until Bamba is fit) - with Bennett and Peltier as wing backs.
