Re: CCFC retained list confirmed/Kadeem Harris Released

Yeah I assume this is an administrative exercise because you've got to have retained players to sell them.
I'd have kept Harris as a squad player but maybe he wants the chance to play more regularly.

the retained list is all the players that are under contract plus those whose contracts have ended, been offered new ones and have signed them..
they have kept the word retained..but it doesnt mean quite the same as it did pre Bosman..

Why?
He’s been here since 2012 and still hasn’t broken into the team. Constantly flatters to deceive.
How much longer should we pay his wages, another two years?

So were going to get rid of one winger and bring another in who we will still have to pay wages on? He may not be a world beater but he is most certainly capable of competing in this squad, and that's what we need in the championship is a squad not just our first 11 and subs

Yes of course

He’s been here seven years and still can hardly get a game ffs.

But when he does play it's not as if hes out of his depth, I said he would be good as a squad player I didnt say he was going to be a starter did I? We need depth but now we will likely pay a transfer fee or give someone a decent signing on bonus and added wages when we could of offered him a year extension or something, but like it's been mentioned hes messed us around in the past so that's why I'm assuming he hasn't been offered a new deal

im struggling to get your point .
you have to leave some go to bring others in. .ideally someone that works out and is good enough to be 1st choice which then ,makes the current 1st choice the squad player..? it don't always work out, but you have to try to improve surely

So am I mate.
In fact, so much, I’m giving up trying to explain.

Are either showing signs of making the grade anyone know?

I was surprised to see those names included tbh; but it may explain the real reasons they were sent out 'on loan' earlier in the season and certainly in one case before the tragedy occurred

A little surprised but not totally shocked to see Kadeem Harris released, as he has contributed little in the last two seasons, despite his early promise. I am sure he will find another club quickly; possibly in the Championship

Can see several on the retained list being available for transfer or (at worst) being loaned to other clubs; Bogle, Connolly, Damour (personally, I'd like to see him play), Madine, Tomlin and maybe one or two others

That will leave room for some decent signings as we push for a quick return to the Premier League :ayatollah:

Why are you both surprised players under contract are on the retained list?

Do you only do 'scan' reading on here, Llan_Blue????

Firstly, RV Casual didn't state any surprise; he simply asked a question

Secondly, I was clearly referring to the McKays specifically and the clear fallout with Secret Agent McKay after the Sala tragedy.

One had already been shipped out and the other quickly followed; giving (maybe incorrectly) the impression that the club were looking to see any McKay family links eradicated from the club

However, we are also told that neither is really likely to 'make the grade' at this level, so it does leave some who actually read this Forum (and other news outlets) a little 'surprised' that they are still here; particularly given Jack McKay's contract is up this month

Yeah I only really only scan the stuff you post to be honest.

I take more time when I’m reading the decent posters posts.

Won’t bother replying again I humbly apologise.

Nothing more than I expected, tbh

You got it wrong (again) though assumption rather than consumption of available material ;)
