What's the point if there is no ambition to continue improving.

But I'd rather win games than lose them,
So if that means promotion, then cool.

I don't get it..
prior to Sam coming in we had been desperate for investment enough to even make us a solid 3rd tier outfit..
i still went, still enjoyed the promotions never thought whats the point , we could well be going back down again..
now we have fans { not that I believe for 1 second dahboy is a fan } sticking their noses up at a championship promotion..you cant write it..

Agree!

This time we gave it a shot and missed out by two points and for my money, they were lost in the first few games (rather than versus Chelsea, which was rapidly heading for a draw at best even before that decision) when we didn't take advantage against some pretty poor teams, inc. Newcastle and Huddersfield

Anyone who doesn't want their team to play at the highest level possible(even in local leagues) is missing the point in competitive football

Without Tan we could be facing relegation never mind promotion. And if didn't continue to bankroll us it could be much, much worse.

Why oh why can't some people forgive? We as fans will never forget, and are correct to do so,it's now part of our HISTORY, where imo it belongs, one huge mistake, but plenty of positive things since, paying everything out of HIS money, long may he continue to do so in my eyes. :ayatollah: :old: :bluebird:

Be nice to go up with a bit more than we had this year..although starting from such a low baseline kept the fans onside all season..Fulham fans(and owner) must be gutted, so it doesn’t always work.

We’re in a good position. When we went top in 2009, I remember a WBA fan saying we couldn’t sustain it(finished 12th). We’re doin ok..

I don't think we did give it a go.

I predicted relegation before the first day of the season. Not being pessimistic but realistic.
A hard working championship side.
Poor recruitment in summer and two
Deadline day midfielders.

Fair play, they didn't half try their best.

But

If we really wanted it, we should have got prem quality in the pre-season.

I supported but if you don't plan properly, you get found out.

We didn't plan to stay in the Premier league.
To me, we planned to come back down.

Dahboy.

You consistently manage to prove yourself a bigger cock by the day.

No small feat.

you were not alone predicting relegation...at best most thought it a high probability..

as you say we were a hard working championship team..not blessed with quality..and when you get promoted in those circumstances the quality gap is financially just way to big to bridge...people talked about 40/50 mill when a 100 mill was a more realistic figure..
add to that the fact that players who have more quality than those here were looking at us as nailed on to be relegated..and it becomes an almost impossible task.
its catch 22 you either go at it modestly , hope you can scrape the first year and build from there but if you do not your not in a financial knot..or panic ,pay fees that are OTT and lure players who are only willing to come because your over paying..might still go down only with a debt and often under performing expensive players whose hearts were not in it from day 1 who you cannot shift because your paying them too much..

im not sure that is planning to go down more just being realistic.

Very strange concept.
If we don't want to win why bother playing ?

My patience is wearing thin with the negativity around the club right now.

its a funny old world..
there was a bloke on here last week considering going to support another club because people had different political views to him...
this fella only wants to win if Tan goes ?. but ..apparently spends a lot of his time looking at seats so quite possibly doesn't know if we have won or lost...

not sure they are actual fans....large pinch of salt mate...

those darn promotion seasons eh.
all those bloody wins , hardly anyone turning up and those that do are so full of doom and gloom.
a good old relegation battle where we stay up on the last day is whats needed.. :?
