Maybe Sharon Warnock has been reading some of the embarrassing "Warnock Out!" threads on this Forum since Saturday's defeat at Fulham?

Either way, some people need to be careful what they wish for should we go back to The Championship and I guess that includes the previously hard to please Vincent Tan

Neil Warnock has been a revelation at this not-so-long ago deeply divided and seemingly unambitious club. He took us from 18th in The Championship (under possibly the most appropriately named manager we ever had and somewhat ironically now Brighton's Assistant Manager Paul Trollope) to the Premier League

He (Warnock) is the most successful manager in the EFL and for those saying "He's too old", I remind you that his last (and record breaking) success came only a year ago with our own Cardiff City FC

If ever a Cardiff City manager deserved a little more respect and appreciation for his achievements, it is Neil Warnock

Personally, I hope he stays. All things considered, he is surely our best option going forward right now...? :?

Sven I agree 100% with you, I think the majority of fans will want him to stay, believe it or not I think he has learnt a lot from this season, and he is definitely the man to get us back up, Neil Warnocks barmy army  :notworthy:

Seconded, people have very short memories, he has almost singlehandedly dragged this club up off its knees, turned it around almost 360°,we were promoted before we were ready as a club, that we are still within a whisker of staying up,is a major statement, with all our troubles off the field, dodgy decisions, players out at a crucial time,I for one am one very proud bluebird, It was obvious that some fans would start turning,as soon as it was crunch time, and time was running low, games running out etc,now is the absolute time,to scream from the very soul, for a team who according to some, were down as soon as the season started,or by Christmas, January, February, March, april  well we are going to be in it for the last month of the season,so f@ck the negativity, support the team, like your lives depend on it  #12THMAN :bluescarf: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

He seems to be saying it a lot though almost as if he does doesn't expect to be here.

If we go down as expected im more than happy for Warnock to remain, but I can understand the club looking at a different style of manager but the grass isn't always greener.

is he saying it a lot, or being asked it a lot ?
its the only answer really if its not been discussed with MD and VT which seems to be the case..
he doesn't just ring journos up make these announcements then hang up, that's for sure..

True, but then I'm not really sure why he would question if he staying or not. If asker just say yes I'm contacted.

Dunno maybe your right just got a gut instinct he may leave.

I spoke with him a few weeks ago. and he dropped something similar in then { if im manager type thing } along with enthusiastically talking about pre season , the game we had watched and an email from im a celebrity..i did say at the time .

there may well be things we do not know, like the Sala transfer which some have guessed at but I got the impression he was going nowhere of his own accord..
having said that, football can turn on a sixpence ,on and off the pitch.

Problem with that is, to go up then stay, you need to play football, and have a battle hardened squad..

How many of our players can hold the ball..

If you ran a football club and the division you found yourself in was looking for a manager , would you look at a manager who has a record number of promotions - or would you look for someone with less success.

If you think the former - you have a footballing and logical business brain , if you went looking for someone less qualified - you would be deemed incompetent I think.

Neil has the earned the right in every aspect to decide what to do - I personally hope he stays - lets do it again - and lets have fun doing so.

Like Warnock said, he is best man for the job atleast at championship level, give him a 2 yr contract but we need someone to be hired regarding recruitment especially if promoted again, as it’s recruitment that’s killed is imo, as well as a little bit extra cash injection if promoted again, surely Tan would want a better crack at the prem next time round .

Warnock is not bothered about contracts and he’s got one for a further year anyway so no need.

I absolutely think NW is the best man for us. We'll be back in the Championship next season, and this man knows what's needed to get us back up. Like others, I found some of his decisions on team selection and tactics a bit baffling, but don't all supporters question this when things are not going quite right? Some of our bigger signings in the last couple of years have been strange, Tomlin and Madine not really figuring much, and sent out on loan, and Murphy and Reid playing bit parts.

With Gunnar going and Camarasa and Arter going back to their parent clubs, we are going to need a completely new midfield, Ralls will do OK but he's not Premier class but will be fine if (when) we drop down, then we need a few more in the middle (a Graham Kavanagh type please) We all know we need a striker that actually has a shot at goal and maybe scores a few, and a right back.
The best thing about where we are now, is that their won't be a queue lining up to take players off us, apart from maybe Etheridge, and we have a good keeper in Smithies to step up.

I believe that if NW still wants to stay and still has his enthusiasm, I will be happy. Nobody has a devine right to go straight back up, (think Villa, Stoke and a few more) but with Neil in charge we have a good chance.

There isn't a manager alive who hasn't made selection mistakes it happens. What Tan and MD must do is look at the bigger picture. NW has brought tens of millions of pounds into this club and helped to heal the wounds post re-brand.

Without NW we would be facing financial meltdown as parachute payments from our 2014 venture would have run out and we would-not have received £100m+ from this season plus £45m next season and £35m the year after if we are relegated.

Our FFP position will be triple A rated and that will give us a massive room for manoeuvre in the transfer market. We have a very good Championship squad which has been refined with PL experience. Our squad really only needs 2 decent strikers to be challenging for automatic promotion and we will have the means to obtain them.

The most important part of the picture is the manager. We need an experienced battle hardened Championship manager and in NW we have that already!

the Sean Dyche interview after their draw at Chelsea was interesting. he said that after last seasons success in finishing 7th he and the club had felt it time to progress , spent quite a bit of money { for them } and altered their style..come xmas only 11 points and in bottom 3 they had a meeting, figured that they should revert to what had actually worked for them and proceeded to pick up 29 points all while the likes of Sari were going into meltdown for what they saw as negative tactics..

most of our players can hold the ball { if parachuted into lge 1 } but if your talking well enough to compete toe to toe with top half prem teams at their own game its no , you need mega bucks to bring in better quality....or you find another way like Dyche has and NW has attempted to..
for me its stick with NW and the only thing that might change my mind would be the club being prepared to spend 100 million plus in the transfer market..

Tony we desperately need midfielders preferably some who know where the net is to chip in along with new strikers.
Think Niasse could thrive in Championship (if he stays) but think Ken's time is up.

A talent scout is what I mean as Warnock is struggling in that area.

There are scouts all over the world reporting to Warnock. It’s him who decides to bring in players like Tomlin, Madine, Damour, etc.
