Less than 24 hours after our powder puff team got spanked on home soil. If only we were the at the equivalent level of the wales rugby team and getting the crowds they do.

If only 5 teams played the football then we'd have a decent

Correct, there's hardly any competition in rugby and now their fans, most of whom got no interest in club rugby will not care about every other international this year cos they've beaten England.

Obviously England will be disappointed they lost on Saturday but they'll continue to laugh at Wales obsession with them, just the same as we do laugh at the jacks obsessing over us.

Just because more countries play Football doesn't make it more competitive.

In almost 90 years only 8 countries have won the Football World Cup.

In just over 30 years of Rugby World Cups there have been 4 winners.

And only ten out of 55 countries have won the Euros whereas in Rugby everyone bar Italy has won the equivalent at some point in history.

If anything I would say international rugby is far more competitive than International Football where whilst Football, although played by 100 plus countries in dominated by 6-7 realy, the rest make up the numbers.

Realisticly, the Football World Cup can only be won by about 7/8 teams out of 200+ participants.

And in Rugby about 8 out of 93 entries have a realistic chance.

Wales just happen to have an outside chance in the Rugby whilst unfortunately in Football we just can't compete with the top nations.

How is it rubbish, results like that happen in all sports.

Japan beat South Africa in the last Rugby World Cup, Wales have lost to Fiji, Ireland beat New Zealand in the Autumn.

If Football is so competative compared to Rugby how can only 7-8 nations out of 200 plus realistically win the world Cup, or are you disputing that?

I like both sports, maybe thats why I take a balanced view on it. I don't understand the hate, Welsh Football suffered over the years not because of Rugby, but because the South Wales Football fans are/we're fickle.

Club Football in Wales pisses all over Rugby but at International level we are miles behind our counterparts.

I'm mid 30s, I never had a rugby shoved down my throat personally, we had a Football Team and a Rugby Team in my school and Town, you could choose either, or both.

the whole international attendances thing is a bit of a joke though isn't it. its more a to be seen at/ or look at my milstad pics on facebook event than an actual fans thing. most who attend a game will be watching their only { or maybe 1 of 3/4 games that season }..and its not just here in Wales either. all 6 countries , 6 nations crowds are bigger than that countries international football attendances { with the exception if Italy where sometimes they are bigger others not..
its not football fans that are fickle and certainly not compared to rugby clingons..

I'm not going to dispute any of that other than to say Football is no different which is how we got 50,000 against Spain for a friendly in the Millennium Stadium.

But back to the original point, the whole reason I replied on the thread was because a few tried to make out international rugby is uncompetitive and in my opinion its no more uncompetitive than Football, both sports are dominated by around 8-10 countries, the rest make up the numbers.
