I know it's a long shot, but how many seats did the plane have. I'm sure it's more than 2 yet only 2 have been found. Could it be possible that they only found 2 because they ejected out of the plane. The pilot done a lot of parachuting, so he could have got them installed if the plane didn't already have them? and I'm sure I read that there were confirmed flares straight after they lost contact. Not that picture we seen on Facebook but actual confirmation that same night? I'm not expecting them to have survived the crash tho.

But they would just find someone. Or find a pay phone. It’s not the middle of the Antarctic. To assume they are alive after such a length of time would mean we also have to assume they have been fit enough to source food and water, and if that were the case there is no realistic scenario where two men, fit enough to at least forage, would not have found anybody in a week and a half.

Mate, the plane crashed into the sea. It’s like hitting concrete and the plane would have been smashed to pieces on impact.
Sorry to be so blunt but do you think they jumped out in those freezing seas and swam ashore?

Looking at the maths it’s squared so an area of 7.5miles total

So there is hope they are found, and questions can be answered, those pictures definitely look like plane seats.

Just seen the images on The Sun article, half way down there’s a picture of ‘seats in a similar Piper plane’ and based on that photo I agree with you they definitely look like plane seats

I thought they was a lifeboat on the plane ? that may have been used. I see where u coming mate. You know i want the best news for the family and the fans.

Fresh water, yes. But again if they were able to get to a fresh water source then they can also get to people or passing boats. You haven’t upset anyone mate, its clear your intentions were good and just wanted to remain positive, but it’s the hope that is often the worst part. As you say, it is now in the absolute miracle level of possibility.

This vessel, if what I have read they want to use it for, will scan the seabed in the area they have identified and try to find more of the wreckage. I believe they use sonar technology which sends a frequency down and you can make out rough shapes of objects with the frequency waves that bounce back. They may also be manned with divers depending on how deep that part is and what visibility is like, although it’s still a pretty big area to scan and search but the fact they feel they have located an area it at least gives them something to work with.

It’s been an awful week for everyone concerned with Cardiff City fc and my heart go out to all Emiliano Sala’s family, they want closure, and the Club needs it too ,I speak for myself it still feels unreal at this time, it just haven’t sunk in. Emotionaly a huge home game on Saturday v Bournemouth fc for all City fans.

You can't fit ejector seats on that kind of aircraft , and without a lot if training anyone would be unlikely to survive being ejected. A night jump at that altitude into the sea is in any case almost impossible for a novice , and the pilot just flew planes for civilian amateur parachutists to jump in perfect conditions with easy parachutes. I don't think he actually jumped .
You wouldn't be much better off parachuting into the sea than crashing into it anyways.

I feel bad pointing this out, but really unrealistic and fantastic stuff like this just drags the agony out and it doesn't help anyone

Just confirmed on SSN the the survey vessel Morven has arrived in Guernsey, David Mearns said that with the fact that seats had washed up in Normandy the area they will now search is 25 square nautical miles, which is an area around 53 miles, and if they do happen to find the plane they will have to refer it back to the AAIB so they can continue their investigation
