right ok. go and call an indian an 'indian b*stard' or a nigerian a 'nigerian b*stard'. if you work with an english person, go and call them an english b*stard. let us know how you get on.
if we were to have conscription, i think we'd stand a better chance of winning if we weren't shouting xenophobic comments at each other, don't you? clearly you are either a) thick, b) disengenuous or c) bigoted. possibly all 3.

Like I said common sense comes in to play. Race or colour delicate subjects and would be dismissal in work places. Taffy or sheep shagger just banter.

i think most of the old guard would be giving the snowflake a slap around the ear while telling him pick on kids again youll have a proper slap...this notion that bullying used to be ok ...no..it was not, they were frowned upon..still are..most people will stand up against it..certainly our fans would have.

I’m not a great fan of Bellamy’s but none of us are sure as to what went on but from another perspective if it was a spoken word that offended what is this lad doing on a football pitch. A pro player will get thousands shouting obscenities at him every week for years. Thick skin is definitely needed.

I get a bit of grief in work from my mates but I know it's not spiteful and they are just having a laugh with me.
I give it back as good as I get it and we have a good laugh.
If it was someone I didn't know though it would be different perhaps but it's never happened.

Society may have; but it seems you missed the bus...
Quote (northernbluebird):
"jesus christ some people on here need to pull their arses out of their heads defending Bellamy on this one"Firstly, your own tone and assumption of guilt are disingenuous to both Bellamy and those you seek to target with your rude
"you can't possibly think anything different to me" rhetoric Above and below)
Secondly, I think you'll find it's heads out of arses; not the other way round
It's not okay to call any of the above those things but (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't believe Bellamy is accused of those levels of homophobia, is he?
Do you get a 'high' out of getting the opportunity to use
any of the words/terms in your post?
I reckon right now, the boy himself is probably in temporary hiding thinking
"Why dad, why?"

Ridiculous comparison. This isn’t just a case of friendly banter with teammates over the Anglo/ Welsh rivalry. This is case where someone with superior power has apparently been targeting specific players with what may seem like banter but over time turns into bullying, especially if the Welsh players are exempt from this treatment. Also, imagine if the kid turned round and called Bellamy a sheep shagger? He’d be out of that academy straight away and most of the same gammon calling this banter on here would be fuming.

I got called a sheep shagger and worse when I joined up but it didn't really occur to me to give a toss - I'm sure I could rationalise that but to be honest it didn't really cross my mind. Of course, I'd been used to far worse things and had not long been released from a long sentence in a Welsh Grammar School where the teachers obviously felt that all boys needed punishment for being born and would benefit from being regularly beaten with canes and told that they were stupid if they were not fully conversational in Latin by the age of 14.
I'm not complaining , you understand, because the outcome of all this was that almost all of the boys in my form ended up with professional qualifications and in several cases exceptional success in life.
It's impossible to compare the social attitudes of those days when Britain was regarded as a very serious power in the world and its people were able to compete with and usually beat rivals from all parts of the world . Things have changed, and unfortunately those who have inherited the freedoms and benefits of that now forgotten society and nation, are a rather sensitive and passive lot who develop their sense of proportion and reality in the nursery school and have no need to progress into full adulthood , or any contact with the harsh realities of the world. Thus they are often terribly upset by infantile matters and trivial sensibilities .
I'm not sure how I feel about that. By the time I wasn't that much older than the boy Bellamy upset I'd seen more dead people than anyone should ever see and witnessed all sorts of human suffering so I honestly can't and couldn't have taken bollocks like this seriously to be honest. The same applies to the puerile whining I hear everywhere about perceived injustices and
" offensive" behaviour.
On the other hand, do I want kids to go through that stuff ? No, not really. At least, I wouldn't want to be the man who decided that for them, but I do know that this fantasy version of the world which so many people revel in just isn't real. It's safe and comfortable for them no doubt, but they also miss out on the opportunity to make contact with the real world and therefore perhaps don't really live in the full sense. It's also true to say that the real world with all its actual harshness and brutality is likely to come knocking at our door sooner or later, ( because historically it always does), and I don't know how these snowflakes will even start to cope with that.

That’s a good point actually. Should never boo national anthems.
Spencer Prior almost walked off the pitch when our dickheads ruined the minutes silence for the Queen Mother.

Hull city fans did that around 12 years ago when we lost to them so isn’t just a recent thing

I remember that, Neil
Thankfully, our support appears a lot more respectful on that front nowadays and I've been impressed with the levels of respect for such occasions in recent times and the reaction to Leicester City and their support was as good as I've seen anywhere

Most definitely true.
Like it or not God Save The Queen is our national anthem.
The booing of the minutes silence and associated songs was disgusting.
