Sol Bamba does brilliantly to challenge Richarlison just as the Brazilian looked to latch on to Walcott’s through ball.

Digne takes the resulting corner, but Keane’s header is easily saved by Etheridge.

There’s a bit of frustration setting in among the home fans now as Sigurdsson mis-places a pass, much to the delight of the Cardiff faithful.

Sigurdsson whips in a cross from the right, and Bamba deflects it behind for a corner.

Lucas Digne whips it in with his left foot, but Cunningham does well on two occasions to prevent Everton from recycling the ball and getting it back into the danger zone.

Everton win another corner, and it’s once again taken by Digne, but Etheridge punches clear.

Everton recycle it and Andre Gomes ghosts beyond Bamba before firing into the side netting.

A good spell for the hosts, this.

There’s a bit of handbags between Mina and Paterson, but it’s nothing to be worried about and play is swiftly resumed.

It’s all got a bit niggly here as we enter the final 10 minutes of the half.

Andre Gomes fizzes in a cross from the left, but it evades everyone and Walcott can’t make proper contact on the shot.

Pressure

Everton are ending the half strongly, but Cardiff look solid at the back.

Bamba has been a rock so far.

Wtf? Ref books etheridge for time wasting! Absolutely stupid decision what's he going to do now warn him 20 Times 2nd half or give him 2nd yellow card after 2nd warning? Refs left himself now room to manoeuvre now!

Solid half, but we’ve got nothing in midfield in possession. Ralls is having a stinker with the ball. Kadeem has been brilliant defensively and that tracking right in the whistle was brilliant. Arter is struggling for pace on the other side but has done well. Would like to see us hold this until 60 minutes, then bring on Murphy (As long as he does his defensive duties) for Ralls and put Arter in the middle.

I expected a lot more from Everton. They have let themselves down up front. Hope they maintain this in the second half.

Paterson is not a striker and it showed. He has done fantastic but we need that cutting edge. We can't expect a full back to have that.

Injury

Bernard trips Kadeem Harris and Cardiff win a free-kick just inside Everton’s half.

Theo Walcott meanwhile needs some treatment after going down just outside the centre circle.

Walcott is back on the pitch as Morrison looks a bit groggy after winning a header from Ralls’ free-kick.

The skipper is ok to continue.

Everton have a good spell that sees Richarlison pick out Sigurdsson on the edge of the box, but the Iceland man shoots just over.

The ref is once again an utter joke. How any of them get to ref at this level I have no idea Deta as we have by far the worst refs in Europe.

Yeah so again clear pen not given ref is a cheat would have given it the other way

Lookman dangerous

Everton almost go 2-0 up as Lookman dances his way through Cardiff’s defence, getting some fortune on the way, but Etheridge does well to scoop away his effort. 8 minutes plus stoppage time to go.
