Promising first half but Cardiff capitulating in second half, they lost all fight in the second half, defence was poor,it was not good enough. Two poor headers from Morrison that were clear chances in front of goal. The goal we gave away was a defensive mistake. No closing down and no early challenges let in Leicester.it was very poor. Yes it was a sad occasion but we must not give in and we must not give up and waste opportunities. Warnock did inspire self belief in the players last season, but his comments and decisions are not inspiring anyone in the club this season and that’s players and fans. I hope he will pull it out of the bag, and stop using negative comments and inspire self belief in the club once more.

Yes the budget was small but was it spent well? big no from me.
Did he spend all his budget? I don’t think so from what he said previously.

I do tend to feel he wanted this small budget to cover his own inability in the transfer market. How much did he ask Tan for when he went to Malaysia? did Warnock get what he wanted? Did he spent it all?

For me the key areas over the summer had to be:
Right back
Defensive midfield (an improvement on Grujic and Gunner)
Striker

He didn’t get any of them and in my opinion those three key positions are the 3 positions we are currently struggling in. Im not saying Smithies and Cunnginham are poor signings as ive seen little of them but if the budget was that small then we spent to much on a back up keeper and a left back although needed should have been way down the list. I initially defended the Smithies deal but thinking Warnock still had plans for the most important positions

Reid is another one I don't understand, im a fan of his and I like him but where does he fit in? and surely the money needed to be spent on the key areas.

For me, I wouldn't have bought any of them reported fees Reid 12m, Cunningham 4m, Smithies 4m so that's 20m plus the 10m he suggested he had left, that's 30m to sort our the key areas and get a keeper on loan or on a free.

Warnock has many many strengths but paying fees for players certainly isn't one of them. Murphy thankfully looks excellent but we needed several good signings to be able to compete on a more regular basis.

A great post, i totally agree with you on Warnock's transfers. He said in the summer that he was happy with the budget VT gave him, that budget seems to be £40 mill afterall he has told the press and a couple of fan forum meetings that there was still £10 million left which he never used. If this is the case up to £20 mill could have gone on a striker, £10 mill on Murphy (great signing) leaving £10 mill for a right back and holding midfielder to go along with our two loanee midfielders, that would have given us far better balance than we have at present.
