We should not be shocked at the money side of things. Fans were saying not long back that they would prefer lower league football providing we played in blue. Tan made it clear that while he was prepared to reverse his decision, there would be no more major investment in the club. Most fans appeared to be happy with that, and we should not be surprised that he has remained true to his word. As far as bouncing back is concerned, that's a lot easier said than done.

Warnock I have a lot of time for and he has work wonders but this is the real bad side of him showing, cup competitions is what I first remember of football and was told by my brother and dad that cup competitions are really special things to any club.
I am not expecting a full strength team like we since in the past 3 games but I wanna see a team picked that looks like it could work together and complement each other on ability, what even was the formation last night? The first half was made up and had no structure and I don't think Peltier or Jazz knew who was playing wing back because there was times where one was pushing on and one stayed back.
Bobby Reid was all over the place making runs off Madine's headers but did he even win one? He got bullied and Norwich tired him out by knocking the ball back and fourth with the keeper because they knew fans would get on his back if he didn't press so I take my hat off to them that's something they would have worked on and know our fans would get annoyed if he didn't press so that was Madine gone for the game really.
Some of the players were playing at 10mph, shrugging 50/50 tackles because they was worried about being injured for games like Arsenal.. Warnock a man of his experience and his old fashioned approach should know better that we want 100% from players no matter what game, we can already see some of the 'Concentrate on the league' brigade which is a load of boll*ck. FA Cup and League Cup are competitive games not friendly games. If you say things like we can concentrate on the league then is there any reason of having cup competitions if we have this approach?
Danny Ward was the only one who had any threat, I think the right back area is nothing short of lower championship standard, I think Peltier has really been a great servant for us and us give 110% but I feel like this position could cost us this season, v Newcastle I seen Bennett overlapping at any attempt when Murphy was driving forward where I don't think we will see much of that from Jazz and Peltier, they remind of me Andrew Taylor defensively sound but look like they got skids running down their legs running past the half way line, more threat in a baby than them pair going forward.
Best part of the night was winning a corner in the second half and everyone geared up with excitement and we had no-one taking the corner. When I leave like games like last night I wanna walk away if we lose thinking we put up a fight but they just had the better of us on the night but we gifted them goals last night and was playing at 75% not 100%.
People can say I am being OTT but I am saying the harsh truth and not shying away from last night, Warnock has done this in previous cup games with us, picking a team from a hat with no real formation or structure not giving it 100%. I think he needs to realise people make an effort to come down last night even if it's not a full house and expect 100%.
I remember a phrase of him saying he signs players that will die for him, I didn't see that last night and he played a Mourinho card last night using something irrelevant to deflect the performance last night with the NML news which we already knew more or less.

It's not just Warnock who shows little interest in this cup. Nearly every other manager in the PL and Championship treat it the same way. This was a competition I used to look forward to, and the League Cup final used to be a big thing even if not quite the same as the FA Cup. Sadly, times have changed, and no-one pays any serious attention to this cup unless they happen to find themselves in the last eight. There was a time when I would not dream of missing any of our cup games, even the Welsh Cup ties. Like many others, I can no longer be bothered to attend a reserve team fixture which was predictably poor, and held no real interest for me anyway. Obviously, thousands of fans throughout the country felt the same, just check out the gates last night, only a few had anywhere close to what could be considered a half decent crowd. Afraid the money splashing around in the PL has devalued this competition, and as much as I would love it to return to it's glory days of the 60's & 70's, sadly this will never happen. I doubt if I will ever feel inclined to watch another game in this particular cup, and I can't even remember who won it the season before last.
I used to watch our second team play in the Combination League from time to time, and take in the odd youth team fixture. Might be an age thing, but reserve team football does not do it for me any more.

The thing is I get your point it's not just us and every manager but I don't wanna be rude but I don't care how they view that's their take on the cup, I believe with some of the happiness and rides we have had on the cup runs and fans love a cup run it's a fact so it annoys me when people say 'concentrate on the league' because I think if you done a poll on here to ask if they'd rather go on a cup run or get knocked out first round they'd go for a cup run.
I always turned up to the early cup rounds if I can attend them, I see most of what your saying but I just wish we weren't one of them clubs that had to follow suit, I don't ask for full strength teams like Arter and Murphy but expect to see 100% from the team that plays on the pitch and I don't feel like we got that last night and I feel like it all stems from Warnock's instructions.. maybe the NML injury maybe forced him to give instructions to the likes of Reid to put some effort in but not go in 100% on 50/50's because I feel like he shunned a few.
I do like even with the depth he got that and millions they got that the likes of Pep speaks highly of these cups and always has his teams playing the same way, watching them all v Chelsea was it? In the Community Shield, Aguero playing like how he would in a premier league fixture or champions league and when they beat Arsenal 3-0 in the League Cup season just gone.
Thank you Annis, I was going to do that but just noticed this thread so found it easier to post it in here.
