Lorente is quality. Might be 33 but would be massive competition for Kenny. Would he come given the JB connection though? Deeney is not dissimilar to Reid, he plays in a withdrawn role when I’ve seen him rather than a poacher or target man. Think wages for both could be an issue.

I don’t think playing for Swansea will matter, he probably didn’t even realise cardiff was a rival while he was there. Anyway not for me to old now we need someone for now and the future not just for now.

I think this interview shows Deeney is exactly the right type of character for us and would be another leader in the dressing room. I would love it if we sign him!

Got to say I think this would be a good signing even at £15m for a 30 year old.

He does perform at Prem level and to be able to alternate between him and Zohore would be a good mix.

The likelihood is that it’s probably only £15m if we stay up. If that happens then it’s all been worth it.

I’m not totally convinced this will happen but hope it does. Certainly less of a gamble than many of the names mentioned.

Good mates with NML as well, could be a coup for us, needs fresh start and what perfect way

I would take him if his heads on for one season.

Seems a lot of money for Deeney, I do like him as a player, honest, committed, no-nonsense approach but is he going to get us 15-20 goals???
