those being called shit just won an against the odds promotion.
and our club are not in a position to upgrade them.
so next year we need mostly the same group to pull off an against the odds escape from the drop zone..
lets call them names...

Ok he’s well below par  not Prem material by a mile off, and what did he contribute to promotion ?

most sides doubled him mate which means they were bothered by him.the knock on effect of that is you have midfielders dropping back and full backs being drawn in..he created holes everywhere.
now if you just dont want to see it you never will, but our manager does ...
and thats the bit i proper dont get...Warnock picks these guys to do a job..with some players its easy for fans to see the attributes and the job they do , fast, tricky, good shot etc..with others its not so obvious..but you can bet your life they are there for a purpose ..now you can either figure out what or just assume the player is shit and therefore the manager dont know what he is doing and won promotion because he is lucky

No need to explain how football works to me mate, I have played and watched enough of it, being a 6’4 striker my self I know how a striker should play. Getting back to Madine he is a donkey in my opinion, we’ve had many of them of the past seasons their easy to spot just by warming up, Cornelius ring a bell  I wouldn’t say he’s as bad as Cornelius was for us tho he was garbage.
Yes he set up a header for an important goal last season, but surely that should be bread and butter for a 6 mil striker. It’s the goals on a plate, sitters and pens he missed that worries me, and his all round play doesn’t impress me. I wouldn’t take him in the championship let alone the prem.

All entitled to opinion. But.....instead of saying this player is crap, Warnock’s hopeless, would be nice to see something constructive written as to why this is your opinion. Otherwise what you write is wank and the thread becomes a pissing contest. I think this is starting to put posters off.

As for madine. He got 10 goals for a piss poor Bolton side last season. His scoring record isnt bad either at his other clubs. Whilst being a bit of an old school CF, with seemingly little finesse, and therefore not everyone’s cuppa, he’s also powerful in the air and is a great plan B for us. He’s a handful and I like him. I also think Warnock is a canny old fella, so if he rates him, that’s good enough for me. His Cardiff city career has been stop start so far (including that broken nose), so we haven’t had enough time to judge him properly but I expect him to do a job for us and the goals will come.

Don’t agree sorry. Madine missed a pen against wolves, cost us a point, cost us many more points as well, if we had signed a mitrovic for example we would of breezed the league not scraped 2nd place on the last day.

That’s impossible to say. We would have had 10 completely different players, playing style and tactics. May not of suited Mitrovic. Anyway, who would have predicted he’d have been as deadly given his Newcastle form - the toon regard him as a cart horse. Don’t tell me, Warnock needs to be psychic now too?

I agree.
Loooking forward rather than back, GM as a target man will cause problems for defences next year, possibly from the bench. He’s excellent in the air and that alone could lead to chances and / or respite for a defence that’s under the cosh.
He’s completely different to our other strikers.
Whereas I don’t think he’s worth what we paid for him, I’d rather look forward at what he CAN give to our side next year. Apologies for positivity

Having watched the iplayer highlights of the Rotherham and Torquay matches, it is obvious that Madine is just hopeless.

£8m for Waghorn is a bargain compared to the £6m spent on him.

Warnock may be good at signing certain players but his forward acquisitions leave a lot to be desired.

Madine makes Warren Feeney and Eddie Johnson look lethal up top.

I fear for us if Zahore doesn't start off well.

And can you imagine what some would be saying if Malky bought Madine and Tomlin? They cost us £8m and if we believe some posts are both on £30k/wk.

Malky bought far, far worse. Spent far more money badly than NW.

Shall we talk about NW’s triumphant signings?

Both of these players were players highly rated across the board. One still hasn’t had a proper opportunity.

Well said, Mac.
Hopefully we can all look forward now.
If no more signings are made then do be it. We go with what we got with a manager that will fight tooth and nail against the best. He,ll instil that into the team too. Personally I can’t wait for the season to start and will support EVERY one of the players that pulls on the shirt and fights for the team.
Once again, apologies for the positive post. :bluescarf:

Madine and Zahore are in the same mould i.e. Cant score goals. Urgently need goalscorer.

Re: Gary Madine

Having had a full pre-season, I think “our Gary” is going to surprise a few people next season, for all the right reasons.

It’ll probably be off the bench more often than not, but those Premier League boys don’t like it up um!

We as fans need to get behind not just Madine, but every single player who dons the Cardiff City shirt this season. Despite being professional footballers, they are still human and will hopefully thrive from the confidence. :bluebird:

I'm no fan of Madine's playing ability but I just read a story on another forum about him giving a little lad his jacket yesterday because the boy was shivering with cold. Hats off to you Gary, that was a wonderful gesture and you deserve a lot of praise.

What suggests to you he’s going to surprise a few people, his past record is average at best, and from what Iv seen so far he’s just not good enough. I’d love him to prove me wrong but can’t see that happening.

Lets be real

We'd all love to have 5 key players of top prem class to come in
2 defenders, 2 midfielders and a forward

but itsnot going to happen

we have got what we have got

we have to get behind them - all of them, who are wearing our colours and representing us.

If we turn on our own, then we aint got a cat in hells chance

I know we have players who are probably not Premier League quality, but they are still our players and I expect a lot of them read this forum. Back then supporting the city was much better and agree we always got behind the players unless they didn't try. They would know about if they didn't for sure.

Madine trys so won't get stick from me. Probably not good enough but not his fault. If you don't like him then warnock should take the stick for paying 6m for him...

Not sure why Madine is getting grief before the season has even started. His scoring stats are no worse than Zohore's. We don't know how either of them will cope against PL defences. At least give them a chance before jumping to conclusions.

I've had a feeling that Gary Madine will be a revelation in the Premiership.
Stuffs gone a bit wrong for him initially but that can change in a moment and he has the ability.

Remember when John Toshack first went to Liverpool - he was crap for ages and they thought they'd bought a real bunny, but as you might remember that all changed and anyone who thought Bill Shankley didn't know what he was doing was proven wrong.

It's in the balance for Gary, I agree, but don't be surprised if he's scoring some goals this season
