Does anyone else think this? (Connolly)

I want to say this because I find it bizzare. I would never be so negative about first team players etc because it doesn’t benefit anyone. But I need to ask you guys

The past 2/3 seasons whenever I Watch Matthew Connolly play, he is standing on his heels, hands inside his sleeves and just looks so helpless and out of place. Doesn’t matter where he plays, but I’m also stating this as if he’s a Center half, never mind Right or Left Back where he is even worse somehow.

But he jogs at BEST, never shows any urgency, is always losing headers, weak in the air, no strength, and his only “assett” is he can pass a ball quite okay for a defender... that’s literally it and is horrendous at everything else.

Honestly he is the worst player I have ever seen and is laughable to watch. Sorry but i can’t see anything else. Just curious is it just me?

Unfortunately I don’t think there is any room for sentiment in this profession. Two simple questions to ask oneself:

1. Has he been a loyal & good servant to the club? Yes
2. Has he the quality to play in the Premier League? Unfortunately no.

Hope that I am proved wrong but I think that he is one of many that should be shipped out on loan or sold.

dont think its sentiment..Connolly is decent ,maybe not prem quality but as it stands you cant 100% say any of our players are ,its something we will find out and like most seasons some will excel while others strugle.
he isnt out of his depth re this squad...has been content being a bit part player {which a newbie might not } and the big one..our manager trusts him..
