If Gunner signed on a Free for us

No I go mental if any of our player score! Surely you go down to support the players!! Theres obviously players I rate more than others but I'm just calling you out for talking rubbish! Obviously I'm going to use extremes as I'm trying to demonstrate that people's expectations are way off!! Its easy to say we should have the best players in the world here but you've got to be realistic!!

I know you've got a very low opinion of Gunnerson but name me someone who we could get on a free who's better than him?

Yup and they all get 100% support during games but this is a message board to debate and with the new season approaching the main debate is transfers.

It is easy to say we should get the best players in the world but I don't think anyone has said that except you. Odd that.

Why does it have to be someone on a free, we have a budget and it should be used or at least loaning someonr in again. I'd rather Bryson and Grujic back. But also think we need better than all 3, that's down to the manager to bring in someone like Woods reportedly available for 6m

Because if Gunnerson signed for us then there obviously wouldn't be a transfer fee involved!

Nothing wrong with a debate pal. I could see your point of view if he had a huge budget and we were looking to spend 50 - 60mill.

It very well might be Warnock playing games but he said our transfer budget was around 30mil. Which he's now spent! He still needs to get a proven prem level goal scorer.... Any idea how much they cost. Now if Gunnerson doesn't sign then he also need to find 3 premier league quality CM.

I happen to think with a solid preseason Gunnerson would be good enough for a DCM role next season. You disagree that's football. What I don't see is how we're going to find 3 CM who are better without taking a massive risk.

Smart move would be to give him a contact because you know what you're going to get with him. Put another quality CM alongside him and Ralls and you take a risk on one!! If the risk then pays off you can look to strengthen in his positions after!!

If he then has a good season then happy days you can strengthen in other areas.

I like Woods and he would be a good signing. Unfortunately, like you said earlier Bentford only finished mid-table and we're planning for the prem

No transfer fee but no doubt he would want a signing on fee like any free agent would.

Yup we know what we are getting with Gunner and that's my issue.

Difference is quite clear with Wood was brilliant last season in a midtable team, still young at 24 and improving all the time looking for that's step up . Gunnerson was average to poor in a team finishing second aged 29 and I haven't seen anything to suggest he can ever be a starter in the Prem.

Zohore took 10 games to get back to some sort of form!!

My other argument is even when he wasn't playing at his best he still scored a winner that got us 3 valuable points. He also won us a pen that should have got us another point against Wolves.

I'm losing the will to live over this topic so for me if he stays then happy days if he goes then good luck to a city legend!! I agree with you with Woods, I would like to get S Davis from Southampton if poss!

A second rate player like Bryson before Gunnarsson says it all doesn't it? A player who's only ability is to act like a Duracell bunny compared to a player who managed to keep Messi quiet.

I've been reading your posts with interest and I admire all you've written. Gunnarsson might have lost a yard of pace and he has had injuries recently but you can still rely upon him to give everything and, what's more, he has no little skill. When Whittingham was here it was clear they couldn't work well together but I'd have played Gunnar every single time before the other. He might not be the most technically gifted of players but his contribution is significant, usually more than Whittingham's.

It's possible he might not be first choice next season but I'd certainly keep him as very useful backup and my instinct is that Warnock will ensure he's still with us next year. Well done Mr Cardiff City!

10 good games in 46 isn't up to it. Yes he was injured and injured again which is another concern. My biggest concern is the way Warnock uses him, he starts at all costs. Rushed back when he wasn't needed and in my opinion his return had a negative effect on the end of the season.

I would say he would be useful back up but I think if he signs he would be played no matter what and in that scenario I struggle to see us staying up.
