It seems that some people conveniently forget the huge debts that already existed before we reached the PL, and the fact that not every available player is desperate to come to Cardiff City. It would be great to have a prolonged stay in the top flight, but most of us a realistic enough to know that we are going to finish in the bottom half of the table, and quite possibly spend the entire season battling against relegation. We are not the bookies favourites to go down for nothing. If we should be relegated, the club needs to be in a strong position to try and get back up. The last thing we want is to end up like Villa.

The OP says a quality striker is required. Most would agree, but they don't come cheap. We know finances are tight, and it is easy to suggest being generous with other people's money. The opportunity is here to get this club on a sound financial footing, something that I cannot ever remember seeing in the 50 plus years I have been a supporter. We always seemed to have staggered from one year to another. It's not just about the next year, long term planning is essential if this club is to make serious progress.

It would appear we’re signing players for relegation and championship football the season after next. If you’re not concerned you should be :ayatollah:

We all thought it’d be many many years before we’d ever see premier league football again, but by some miracle we’re their, and tbh I’d like to stay there so I want us to sign 3 premier tried and tested players (we don’t have to break the bank) and a quality striker asap. Loosen those purse strings Tan if you want to stay up.

I find it annoying that people quote what they think they've heard to get a point across.NW at any time hasn't said he's not good enough to manage in the prem."Not a fair crack" is the expression that comes to mind. The premier league is full of players from lower leagues that were given a chance by a manager the most famous at the moment must be Vardy.

I thought the same I can't recall warnock ever saying he isn't good enough.

Out of interest what experienced Premier League Manager would you have brought in? Quite frankly finding experienced premier league manager to come to us will always be a challenge and there is no guarantee that an 'experienced EPL manager', could do a better job with us than NW can.

Look at what we would call experienced Premier League managers - either they are out of our league in terms of ambition / funding or they are a group of managers who like vultures circle failing sides and see if they can keep them up... You really want to go down that route.. Pardew , Allardyce, Moyes, Mclaren, Bruce, Hughes! No thanks, I am sure no one wants to be on that merry-go-round.

NW deserves the chance and I think the signings to-date are appropriate - one of the fastest players in the championship, probably the best left back (who has played in the EPL), one of the best keepers in the league... and there are still 3 or 4 more transfers to come it. For me the key two signings to come is a proven midfielder who can pass well and a striker with some pace who can put the ball in the net. I think they will come in and there is no need to panic.

Of course it may all go wrong and we could well be looking for a new manager by Christmas. But out of respect and loyalty to NW I am happy to let him crack on and deal with the consequences of him being out of his depth if and when that happens. He, and this group of players, may surprise us all and wouldn't that be better than pre-empting failure?

It is true he said in the past he didn't think he was good enough... and the truth is he may not be, time will tell. I am willing to give him a crack of the whip. Maybe he and the players will prove us (and him) wrong and we will stay up. I am surprised by the criticism of the signings, I think they have been excellent.. Yes we need a few more proven players in but it's still early in the window. Remember that during international competitions transfers are always delayed and at the back end of the window - players, managers and agents are consumed by the world cup for the best part of the summer.

'Experienced' Premier league managers are also a bit of a myth. I'm not sure I would want an experienced premier league manager, certainly the ones we could attract... We can't get the Sean Dyches of the world as they are out of our range. So I'd rather stick with NW for the time being.

Re: Thank you NW but........

Warnock and his backroom team have done brilliantly to get Murphy in and he's a long admirer of Cunningham so I'll trust him on that.

If we signed Bobby Reid , Smithies, Grujic ( loan ) and another top Centre mid I would be confident we can stay up.

I'm not sure what some people expect....

yeah starting to come together a little now, if only on paper.

I read yesterday that Sam Bryam is going on a season long loan to Forest which would be a shame, i think he would be perfect for us

Disagree with this one, how could you sack a manager that’s brought us from the lows of the championship to a premier league team within 2 years? It’s clear that there is a great belief in Warnock from the players and I can see why, as there is also a great belief in him from all of our fans. There’s not a lot of experianced Premier league players that have the wages that we could give, plus would they deserve more then the like of Morrison or any of the squad that’s worked so hard to get us here. We’re building a solid squad with a great group of players and with the potential signings of Smithies and Bobby Reid this is only going to give us a much better squad. And if worst comes to worse then we have the manager and the squad depth to bring us straight back up. As Warnock said “people forget Burnley went straight back down and look where they are now” and if that was to happen to us we’d be ready and be going straight back up with this current squad and manager. Personally I believe we’ll stay up, come on the bluebirds! :bluebird: :bluebird:

Just because Warnock hasn't had much success in premier doesn't mean anything look at sean diche he didn't have much success till last season give the man a chance he deserves that much loyalty

Well done that man.now all you have to do is tell the difference between "NOT LIKING"or"NOT ENJOYING" to "NOT GOOD ENOUGH" the latter being a complete fabrication on your part.

I don't mind someone with a different view to me but after seeing this whole thread have come to the conclusion that your probably not a cardiff fan as I don't believe a true cardiff fan would have made that error let alone miserably trying to justify it.You must be with the style of your posting that aforementioned troll so for that reason "I'm out" a I don't want to give you the oxygen you so crave.
