I for one want him to remain. He has done everything he has said he would. We are not hunted down by HMRC and we are operating in line with our means, run as a football club.

If you can do better by all means stump up the cash and back the club - otherwise give the guy credit for sticking around and not leaving us rot into League 2, which he may well have done after we last came down!

Re: tan to sell

Wed May 02, 2018 11:24 am

I hope he doesn't sell up, we finally have stability at the club and an owner looking to sort the debt and who is accountable for the debt.

Yes the rebrand will always remain an issue for some, I've never really been one to looking back and I really believe the club is in good hands for once. The grass isn't always greener.

You only have to look down the championship table of the clubs who have foreign owners who have promised the world and delivered next to nothing except huge debt that they are looking to get back or pass onto another owner.

Re: tan to sell

Wed May 02, 2018 11:31 am

He made a mistake, he has changed it, we are 2nd with a very good chance to go up. He has bankrolled it, he has backed NW, he has holds the debt. Not one person was thinking about Tan at Hull City just supporting the team and the push to PL. I would rather our owner than what our neighbors down West have.

Move on fella, its past now if you cant then don't follow the City. I hope he stays and continues the good work he has put in. :bluescarf:

Well that is not much to brag about considering previous owners we have had.

So name me one other owner we have had to has brought division between the fans. However much you will stick Tan on a pedestal he will always be known for his re-brand and its disasters it bought.

For Christs sake the OP saying he 'hates' Mr Tan, hates a big word and bit OTT?

Wonder if these folk remember ALL the other colour shirts we've had including white!!!

WE are back in blue,2nd in the league, one game away from the best league in the World ( not my view ), good manager and players, big money offers being turned down for players, club being run like a business for once BUT no... oh that nasty man Tan made us play in red so I hate him, leave it go fellow as it is obviously destroying you

Totally agree with you Wez. I very rarely get angry reading other people's posts but I'll make an exception with the OP's submission. How small minded and sad can you get. He should just be grateful that we don't have Venky's or that Oyston fella at the helm. He really would have a worthwhile gripe then.

If he can't forgive someone who's done everything in their power to put right earlier wrongs, that says more about him as a person than anything else.

Why should we forgive? If we were still in the Premier he would have kept the red. If there was not a danger of our support imploding back in the Championship we would be known as the Redbirds. Tan had no choice but to do a U turn and it was nothing to do with him putting things right.

Can't all you Tan moaners shut up FFS. Get over the rebrand because he recognised his mistake and had the courage to change back to Blue. It is a pity you do not have the courage forgive this mistake. How can you complain about a owner who has corrected his mistake, has taken us to the Premier League and looks about to do it again. For those of you who stopped attending games because we played in Red I don't class you as Cardiff City supporters, if you were you would follow the club through thick and thin. Be careful what you wish for, If he does sell the club we could end up with owners like those who have ruined Birmingham City and many other clubs.
Thank you Vincent Tan for saving our club, without you we may have gone bankrupt. :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

With the rebrand aside you would not find a better owner in my opinion.

I appreciate this topic still splits opinion but why would the op even start this thread when everything at the club at this point in time is nothing but POSITIVE :bluescarf:

Really quite sad fella  Just let it go and enjoy the here and now, there is only one loser if you are genuinely still hoarding this hate and it is not Vincent Tan :ayatollah:

There's a lot worse owners out there in previous years and even now,the guy made a mistake and put it right not understanding fully the passion of football history,he's a business man after all.

No because he mocked as he did it. The only reason for reversing it was because even he realised he'd made a massive mistake. I'll never accept him :bluescarf:

Re: tan to sell

It’s very rare that anyone with that amount of power and money will ever say the words sorry or admit publicly that they are wrong, however the actions that follow speak louder than words.

Whether it was Dalman, Choo the fans or even his Mum that said he needed to go back to blue doesn’t matter, the fact he did is what matters, also the fact that he didn’t stop bailing the club out like he said he would (red or dead was being bantered about at the time) surely speaks volumes.

The man up until recently was bailing the club out to the tune of a million pound per month (and may still be for all I know) how many owners of championship clubs do that ?

Every chairman of every club makes mistakes it’s how they rectify them (if they even do) that matters.

Like others have said, the grass isn’t always greener, better the devil you know, and can you HONESTLY look in the mirror and say you have NEVER made a mistake that effected others ?

He will probably always be reminded of it, so he like us will probably never forget it, but we can forgive surely after all the good he has done since ?

Yes at the time he may have divided/split the fan base, but it’s not him that continues that split is it, it’s people not moving on from it that continues the divide/split, and thankfully imo they are in the minority now.

As above... if it wasn't tan saving the club it would've been some other billionaire or whatever he's worth.

Thing is we were facing a winding up order which would have meant insolvency not administration with no potential buyers on the horizon.

Don't forget it was TG who was the original investor and his association was down to the fact we let his boy who plays in the malaysian league train with us so that initial investment had at least some degree of emotive weight behind it.

It was only after TG had invested enough to keep the wolves at bay that Tan then got involved.

We were living on the edge for a long time and about to fall off. I remember reading at one point about how the team bus had to pull over in the services on the way to Preston to check if hadn't been made insolvent.

I honestly don't think Ridsdale would've found a buyer other than the Malysians in time to save he club.
