Aston Villa have agreed a loan deal for Lewis Grabban

A loan deal has been agreed for Grabban, 30, to spend the rest of the season at Villa Park, according to Sky Sports.

Grabban fired 12 goals in 19 league appearances during a loan spell with Championship strugglers Sunderland before returning to Bournemouth earlier this month.

The Cherries had been hoping to secure a permanent sale but struggled to find a buyer.

Cardiff City have also held talks with Grabban but he stalled on a switch to Wales.

Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has now turned his attention to Bolton Wanderers target man Gary Madine.

I posted over the weekend it went pear shaped Friday Sven. Not for the want of city trying purely down to grabban waiting for something else.

Were we ever seriously involved with him. How advanced were our talks with him, or was he just a player identified as a potential target. He was just one of stacks of names that those itk reckoned was a done deal. As I have said plenty of times, until they are pictured at the CCS holding a City shirt, it's all a load of nonsense to me. I can't believe anyone is shocked by what appears to have happened, only the most gullible of fans would be surprised with the outcome, we go through this scenario on here every single transfer window.

Steve most fans know the score in window so why are some fans going into meltdown over things out of their control? :old:

Re: OFFICIAL: DONE DEAL - Grabban to Villa

We cant compete with the likes of Villa and the wages will be very high and after what has happened in past with stupid wages we paid under other managers thankfully we wont go back there.

Warnock will not pay stupid money on wages and we are also under the rules because of that stupid money we spent before

By all accounts Villa have as much a pot to pee in as we do after they went all out last year. I would say that you can see that in there signings this season over last. Are they more attractive as there deemed a bigger club by these players and think they’re better off going til there in order to gain promotion?! Although everytime Grabban goes up he’s benched again

There is no point in us trying to do something on the cheap now, can’t see us making top 6. We need zohore to get firing again or ship him off.

Correct. Tan has also made it clear that we have a budget to work to. Agents are touting their players around looking for the best deal possible. None of these players have any links to S Wales or are desperate to play for Cardiff. Probably not desperate to play for any particular club. Money counts, and it's natural that most people will work for whoever pays the most. Nothing new about what looks to have happened here. We will bring in whoever we can afford and can add quality to our squad.

Take look at transfers there's a lot of cheap deals being done with loans being the norm, so saving clubs on long term outlays whilst getting players of the books so can bring in new players it's called the transfer window :laughing6:

At this rate I don't think Grabban will be going anywhere, Villa linked with Braithwate now.

Grabban deal didn't happen because putting it politely was a greedy b*stard. Warnock wants players who want to play for him.

Probably priced himself out of a move serves him right if stuck at Bournemouth in reserves!
