I understand fans talking about who they would like to see brought in or who is worth keeping or selling but when it comes to the money being transferred I just find it very odd when people say things like we should have taken that as if it somehow benefits them how much someone is sold for.

its one ive never been able to get my head around either...the bigger the offer { which suggests the better the player } the more people want rid...i understand a club wanting to ballance books but fans should want to keep the better players.. and as you say there is no guarantee that new signings made out of some of the sale money would work either.

Could be something to do with the fact that Warnock has said he wants to bring some new faces in but would have to offload players to balance the books. I would assume that the the value of a player would play a big part in how many players he may need to move in order to get some replacements in. If Zohore was valued at £1m, selling him is not likely to give Warnock much in the way of funds for replacements. If the club got £15m for him, you would think Warnock may be given the opportunity to bring in two or three players to strengthen his squad.
I think we all know that only a percentage of money received from the sale of players will be re-invested, but even if it was only 25% being made available, 25% of £15m is a lot more than 25% of £1m.

no mate, the thread is we SHOULD have...we kept him i was chuffed and we are 3rd..
on the other hand we could have sold him and bought, cornelious..brayford..moore..le fondre..saadi..ravell..emyr huws.. chamakh. eikrem lambert and berget instead { ive tried to cover a few windows and managers }for the money....
football doesnt work like that..sell a player for 12 mill and buy 3x4mill players and be stronger..invariably 2 wont work out and the 3rd isnt as good as the player youve lost..

I was responding to Phil Davies' comment about why fans may care about the price of a player. I was using Zohore as an example, could have been any of our players. I am interested in how much we get for a player. It usually means we have either an opportunity to spend on another player, or helps to ensure our club can continue to exist financially. Either way it benefits the club I support, and can potentially improve our chances on the field, or help ensure I still have a club to support a few years down the line. We are a small club, and if we can make large profits on players, it can only be good in the long term.

never had an issue with us selling anyone..but ill never understand wanting to get shot of players that actually play { a rare commodity } the example list i came up with is a small fraction of a much longer list of players that didnt come off..a much longer list than value for money players.
