Bennett down

Connolly booked

Nice play from Freeman but QPR’s charge forward is halted by an off-the-ball incident involving Connolly.

Looks like he barged into the back of Paul Smyth. Yellow card.

Zohore and Healey are just starting to link up. That’s a second shot of the game for Healey, this time it’s blazed well over from an acute angle.

Promising signs in that relationship though.

Bamba thwarts Smyth when QPR were just looking a tad dangerous. It’s back with the Rs back four now but they’ve misplaced so many passes already you just feel it’s a matter of time before Cardiff get another chance to counter. The Bluebirds have definitely been the better side thus far.

Hoilett coming into it

Nicely worked between Hoilett and Bennett on the left, as is the case so often. Hoilet then plays a cute ball looking for the onrushing Paterson but the Scot can’t quite get on the end of it.

Good football by the Bluebirds.

Some woeful communication by QPR lets Zohore in, but he opts to pass to Hoilett and gets the ball completely wrong.

Onouha at fault there, Cardiff at least have a corner to show for it after the challenge came in on Hoilett. But Smithies catches.

QPR’s defence still seems very brittle but, at present, Cardiff are struggling to unlock it.

Boos for referee Robinson after a soft Smith foul on Bamba is given. Warnock then rushes to get the ball and gets cheers from the Cardiff fans.

Paul Smyth out-runs Bamba and then puts in a decent ball, which could have gone horribly wrong for Connolly. His skewed block - thankfully for Cardiff - bobbles into Murphy’s hands,

Paterson is forced to clear Luongo’s cross behind for a corner and we get the first real noise from the home fans... it’s taken them 38 minutes.

Freeman’s corner is met by Onouha, who has a free header, but wastes the chance. He made a real mess of that.

Another big QPR chance goes begging

Cardiff undone and again QPR squander a huge chance. Baptiste and Luongo linked nicely on the right, deceiving Connolly and Smyth manages to scoop a simple shot into the second tier.

He had time to take a touch before pulling the trigger.

QPR hit the post through Smith but Bamba gets it away! C'mon City, you need to see what their game plan is, as they come close again and QPR start to take the game to the opposition
