Not me, I won't change my mind on Tan if he spends or not. :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluescarf:

I just give my view regarding team strengthening for Neil Warnock :thumbright: :thumbright:

But if Tan spends £millions I won't praise him, if he does not,I won't dislike him anymore, it will be his loss as much as the fans misery if we fail to go up as it will be more costly to him personally.

Me neither. I won't give a toss if he spends or not.

If a Man has the balls to apologise and mean it then I’m a great believer in forgiving someone. But let’s be honest he has never said sorry. Some fans have never come back some won’t come back whilst Tan is there and some won’t come back because we are not in the Premier league.
Cardiff have a very hardcore fan base but that number is limited and they are the ones that go week after week. But many won’t go unless it is more or less free and that is sad.
So i say to Tan the start would be to damn well apologise because many like myself still can’t forgive him.

I would say not only has Warnock reignited a spark in fans and the football but also Mr Tan himself.

All that said if Tan sold up tomorrow I do not see that 10,000 fans would turn up overnight, over a week, a month or a year - out fans are fickle and it was clearly underlined Boxing Day when at 2-0&3-0 there were mass exodus’s, the atmosphere was flatter and Joe Blogs put his two cents in towards the manager with no idea what he was talking about.

Keep what we have i say, grow it from there not artificially

Brilliant post! We’ve been back in blue for as long as we were red (if not longer). The re-brand is not the reason people aren’t turning up - and certainly not 5k-6k of them. As the poster states - if Tan walked tomorrow we aren’t going to magic up an extra 10k fans. We clearly aren’t scale of club we thought we were or should be, because everything is in place for us to be getting crowd of 25k plus this season.

It’s about some people realised that that the only reason we exist as Cardiff City today is because of Tan and start recognising him to some of the good things instead of solely focusing on the long since reverted bad thing.

The size crowd tonight or this season as got sfa to do with something that happened 4ys ago I bet same suspects will blame low crowds in ten yes time on rebrand! The simple fact is people got better and more things to do than sit on a cold night watching football?I certainly questioned why I went tonight after all travelling I've done in past 48hrs and it on sky much easier to stay at home along with the other missing fans

I remember when people said - get us back to blue and the stadium will fill up! Well here we are back in blue and near the top - where's all the fans? If Tan did go - it would be interesting to see whether all these thousands of missing fans turn up again - I doubt we have that many really - prob 50 if that!

Only exist because of tan?. He shut the club Cardiff city the bluebirdsdown for 2and a half years.do you blame me for not going and watching him pose with the red brigade.?.

Re: ' Vincent Tan Tonight Said '

All this about crowds being low because of the rebound is crap, ok you may get people coming back if Tan went but lots of people who say that they will never come back until he goes are just being untruthful, they should tell the truth and admit that they have just lost interest in City, or have found other things do do, and the re-brand was the catalyst. look at the percentage of people on here who hate Tan but still watch the City and look at the percentage that have said they will never come back until he goes, transpose this to the general population, and you may see that we will never get a big increase in crowds until we play really good football or get promoted

Without Tan, the club would have been shut down before he even had a chance to turn us red. I assume you remember the out of control debt, winding up orders and court cases that have gone away since Tan got on board.

I have a season ticket and do a 250 mile round trip to games because I support Cardiff City - not because I’m part of a so called ‘red brigade’.

just want we needed, first sign of negativity and the reband is brought back up

the truth is nothing to do with Tan or the rebrand. its simply because we aint top.
It was around this time of the season (when we won the league) numbers increased, due to belief. We are around the same numbers pre that season.
I know people who said "i wont go back till we are blue" soon changed to "wont go back till Tans gone" and then funnily enough started turning up to the odd game this season.
We are in an area dominated by "glory fans". sad but true. If we was in Wolves position or looking like going up. Or watch if we make it too the play offs, we will get sell outs.

People will always sugar coat the truth to suit them.

For 5 months we were in the Top 2 of the Championship, surely that was good enough to attract crowds?

Surely your not saying that it needed to be January for the crowds to return? as the excuses were going to be everyones skint then.

We have just had the two home Xmas fixtures and they attract for all British clubs, two of the biggest crowds of the season a fact. Funs had not bought in advance and this for me is very worrying.

Our crowd on Boxing was our lowest for many many years, yet we had been so successful this season.

Going by half-season ticket sales at unbelievable rices, were not good.

I am starting to believe they would not return in massive numbers whilst still in the Championship and the big crowds that would appear in the Prem, would be there more for the opposition than City.

I am honestly worried that City have lost their support and if we don't go up,crowds will get less next season.

Re: ' Vincent Tan Tonight Said '

If people want to hate Tan then that is their choice.

However if you really do support Cardiff City, then hating the chairman has to be the ooorest of excuses not to attend.

It's OUR club, always has been, always will be, irrespective of who's in charge- and the fact is there aren't ANY super wealthy locals who support City, there's no Gibson or Lansdowne in South Wales, so like it or not we NEED him to keep making up for the losses the club makes... partly due to the local population not supporting the club by attending in numbers.

If you can't afford it, live miles away, have family commitments then fair enough.. but to not come because of who the chairman is just seems ridiculous, deep down anyone left in this bracket really just doesn't want to put the effort in any more for the club and Tan gives a convenient excuse. No that anyone needs one. If you don't love the club any more then you don't.

At the time, it looked like we would be. However the fact is, there was no one else interested or prepared to step up. One thing is for sure - if we’d done a Portsmouth and dropped through the leagues, we’d have crowds of 3k again giving people something else to complain about.

Neil, lots of selective memories who only want to admit to the bits (usually negatives) that suit them. The real 'supporters' stayed despite the horrid rebrand and eventually it got overturned. That, surely, was the time to move on and take the club forward rather than bleating on about what no longer applies?

The security of the club's future was pretty much non-existent before Vincent Tan (a non-football man, so there was bound to be some naivety) came in from the blue to rescue us. He made mistakes (two massive ones in the red rebrand and the apparent 'dissing' of the club's fans) but I believe he has learned lessons whether they are genuine or just a tool to get supporters back on board to make the club more saleable.

Either way, he won't be here forever and when he goes, the club itself will be in a far better position than when he arrived and it's up to the backward looking fans to decide of they want to move on or constantly and negatively keep referring to things they cannot change, i.e. the past! ;)

Ok going red didn’t help, but crossed wrs are down more because of boring modern football, and the lack of atmosphere and a good day out.

Also 1000’s packed in after reaching the Premier League and realising it’s not all that anyway.

There are still plenty of modern plastic fans who would pay whatever to say they had a season ticket to watch premiership football.

So the answer Tan is get them to the premiership and the modern for that’ll fans will come.

Not really. We didn’t have income to pay our outgoings. Can’t get much worse than that.

They hadn’t sold the following years season tickets and spent the money. They also had Premiership money. Plus after portsmouth and other clubs HMRC held a dim view.

Portsmouth’s crowds held up quite well in the lower leagues.

Ian, with respect, our club (ironically thanks to TG and Tan) were but for the grace of God never put in a position where the supporters needed to prove or disprove their loyalty had the club 'done a Pompey', so it's pretty hypothetical

A relatively small hardcore of City supporters, including myself, would have stood by the club and gone on the horrid journey (no one should think differently) that would hopefully have got us back to a respectful position over a number of years, if at all

However, the simple fact is that most people only attend what they consider to be 'worthwhile' events of any nature; sporting or otherwise and (sadly for me) the modern trend is because they are 'to be seen at' events, which would explain the 'more interested in glory' people that you refer to

What is indisputable is that City's attendances didn't really falter until the club started to slide back down and it was clear there was to be no instant return to the Premier League. It's a fact but one that has been clouded hugely by a few persistently vocal 'anti-Tan regardless' and a lot of 'we had other reasons but we'll blame it on Tan now the ride is over' deserters

Why is it the club can move on but some fans cannot?

Vincent Tan has now corrected a lot of his huge mistakes and/or misjudgements and has remained pretty much under the radar in recent times, yet he has still kept the club afloat and moving forward both financially and on the playing side with his appointment of the best 'manager' we've had for some time. It seems to me that it's some of the fans who don't want to move on and not the (pretty contrite of late IMHO) owner himself

As Cardiff City fans, we should all be embracing and looking forward to the future rather than the past! :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Sorry I should have explained .i have returned.my first game back was the "back to blue" Fulham match.

Re: ' Vincent Tan Tonight Said '

Sat Dec 30, 2017 1:41 pm

There are about 5 season ticket holders in the 3 rows around me in the ninian. Most matches I have about 10 empty seats to the next person and so do they.

On boxing days all three rows were busy. So that's potentially 30 people/families that have decided to give up their boxing day and come to the game, maybe for the first time?

After that performance will they be back?

At one point someone behind me was saying it's the worst football he's ever seen. My son turned to me and said "I've seen them play worse"
