2 wins in the last 18 boxing day games....our boys clearly like their turkey too much!!

Seriously though, 6 points lost in last 2 games which I honestly thought we'd win. Still have faith though, still a long way to go.

Just as when we beat Villa we weren’t world beaters, we haven’t become a bad side after just 2 defeats.

In an ideal world, we’d win every home game and draw every away game (averaging 2 points per game), but how we get the points is irrelevant. If we win at home on Friday night, we’ll be on 50 points (2 points per game). This equates to 92 points at the end of the season, which should be more than enough for an automatic promotion slot.

Another positive is the fact Ken Zohore will only get better with match fitness and the imminent return of influential Captain Sean Morrison.

While I appreciate tonight’s performance was dire, am I missing something? There’s 21 other Championship clubs that would love to be in our awful predicament. :bluescarf:

Not only Turkey Annis, but on todays evidence plate loads of pigs in blankets & Brussel sprouts, followed by large portions of rich Xmas pudding & Brandy sauce,, all washed down with copious amounts of Vino. :old:

We weren’t great at Reading but got a draw, lost to one of the worst teams in the league on Saturday and now today we’ve put in what is being reported as a terrible performance.

Our target pre-season was top six and that’s still acheiveable, but people got too carried away with our early season form.

A lot of people said that people like me were too negative and fans like me didn’t deserve to have Warnock as our manager - but I’ve been proven right recently.

It's ok being a bit negative as long as you are not trying to steal my thunder.
I think it's only on this forum that one or two people got a bit carried away. Most people I know think I'm mad by saying I think we are contenders (just about) for a play off place. I still think we can do it, but in my local pubs and clubs I am in a minority. A lot of my mates have never agreed with me, even after our fantastic start to the season.
I still believe if we get the rub of the green a play off place is more than achievable.

Honesty from Warnock

Neil Warnock:

“I was disappointed with the goals we conceded here, but overall I thought they were better than us.”

Some shocking support in 114 ninian stand
First home defeat and 1 or 2 throwing their toys out of their pram.
Yes it was not good ,but some of the comments aimed at the team were abysmal.

We were bad but Fulham were really good a far better team than us that is the worrying part. Sadly for Fulham they do not play that good week after week if so they would be top a very good footballing team as last season the best team to play football

Early season form? Short memory, only recently we won four on the bounce it's half a season gone and we are joint second. You haven't been proved right or wrong, it's where we will sit at the end of the season that counts. So have you been proved wrong for the last 4 months and just right this week. Crazy. :sleepy2:

Well out played but didn't they only have 4 shots on target and scored 4? Shows how poor we were to lose to opposition who made most of their chances!

I’ve not read all the posts. Just dried out after the game. Disappointed By the performance. Zohore and his wonder strike aside we didn’t really threaten. Beaten by the better side.

Things that stand out for me - we can put to bed the doubts about the value of Morrison. Bamba and manga are unquestionably outstanding. But I think Morrison allows them to do that. He organises them all and keeps the back stable. Manga and Bamba are very similar. We need an immovable object at the back that coordinates them all.

Midfield. We have 3 effectively identical players. All are good at their roles but I think only ralls is capable of picking a pass. Not sure what Bryson brings that the others don’t.

Clearly if our wings are stopped we can’t play through the middle.

We needed someone to open the middle of th park up and none of them were able to put their foot on the ball and dictate play around them.

Though we might have learned our lesson after Bolton and made amends but still higher than I thought we would be at this time but got this feeling that our bubble has burst and going to be a struggle to stay in contention for promotion much better teams out there now for me.

And all taking points off each other, so keep the faith and support the team through the thin bits as well as the good bits that form part of the game of football ;)
