Whilst Riddler was out there offering extornite rates of salary to certain lesser ability players, Ridsdale failed to offer a decent contract in par with lesser players. For instance one player who turns slower than the QE2 , cant pass a football, makes mistake after mistake got offered 14k basic although he had been relegated to Div one and was only on 8k, whilst Ledley sat on his basic 3k odd as good old Joe! Lad was taken for granted putting him in a financial position of having to play " catch up".

I was saddened by the abuse he received from fans that, only a matter of weeks before, were cheering him on playing for the City. I thought it was narrow minded the way some people reacted. He did so much for us, yet some people failed to recognise this fact

Jenkins took over from Steve Borley on Players Contracts after a Terrible Argument.
Jenkins then tries to negotiate with Stoke, but with No experience, came unstuck, got Nick The Sec to Ring Borley in Majorca for help, Borley then tried his best with Stoke, to No Avail.
The Riddler was Called in as he is being paid a Wage to do this kind of Job, He spoke to Stoke, but then certain Directors wanted The Riddler not to be involved so he was removed lol, in the mean time Ledleys Agent was touting Ledley around.
Dave Jones then took over, Stoke were now saying what a Joke Our Club was to Deal with and things by now had gone backwards/stale, in the mean time Celtic had now come in.
There you are a short brief of what happened.

No chance that Stoke were saying our club was a joke because they couldn't get their way ? i.e they wanted us to promise not to go to tribunal

Celtic made Ledley a better offer as well. The Stoke chairman's own words were that he couldn't compete with these wages.

Jones says all they offerred was 2 players.

So, how has the club lost out in these negotiations.

To me it looks like the damage was done months ago.

This is something that alot of fans fail to see.

I'm not too sure who to beleive though. I recall DJ sometime at the start of last season saying Joe agent is costing Ledley alot of money becuase he wont sign a new deal. From that I presumed Ledley was offered a new contract. Forward to Ledleys departure he goes public and blames Ridsdale for not offering a new contract. Who is lying?

£7.2 million over 4 years of which there was a £1million signing on fee included. This is how much Joe Ledley will earn minimum from his first 4 years at Celtic.

Joe spent 14 years from the age of 9 at our club and spent near on 6 years in the 1st team making 226 appearences, captaining the side at the age of 21, scoring the only goal of the FA Cup Semi-Final, winning 32 international caps along the way were just some of the highlights this Fairwater lad achieved.

Quite truthfully I was amazed at the level of abuse Joe got from a section of our support when in truth the reason Joe left was our own clubs doing. Our previous Chairman lied regarding Joe, keeping DJ in the dark at the same time, then when the club had the opportunity to cash in on Joe incompetence by staff at our club cost us dearly, so I dont blame Joe one bit for looking after number 1 and when you consider what little action there has been in the last month regarding transfers then can you ?
