Good result that then for us tonight, been studying it again after tonight's games and we could really do with Northern Ireland losing againt Czech Republic tomorrow because they will still probably finish 2nd but they would need to take something off Germany to reach atleast 14 points like our maximum if we won the 2 games!

So as we stand our 3 point win against Moldova wouldn't count (so 8 points) meaning we would still have to beat Georgia AND Ireland to reach 14 and beat Greece on 13 (assume they beat Cyprus).

All these scenarios seem to be based on Wales achieving four successive wins to finish the qualifying campaign. With only two wins from seven games, I think it unlikely that we will win the next three to add to yesterday's victory. Unless we show a really big improvement, we will fall well short of what is required.

its why i added its all a bit premature.
4 wins on trot is difficult for any team at any level i agree.. but we are talking about our chances of qualification. and im afraid that is whats required..and its possible that wont be enough.

this link pretty much covers it..tables .including a table of the 2nd place mini lge with games against the bottom teams excluded...results..and remaining games..
the only thing missing is that its possible for a team currently in 3rd place to have more points in the runner up table than the team currently in 2nd...so therefore making it worse for ourselves should that team jump into 2nd spot in their overall table...Greece and Bosnia are an example of this.

No, 9 qualifying groups, the winners all go to russia. the best 8 of the 9 second placed teams go into a playoff where the 4 winners go to Russia.

no..3rds do not count..but if you look at the greece ,bosnia group...bosnia are currently 2nd and greece 3rd.
but greece have better results against top 5 teams..
