I agree with the statement about Halford.

However, it hasn't been helped by the fact hes been playing so many different positions for city. (Full Back, Centre Back and Centre Mid). Not an amazing player, but a useful utility and squad player at best. We need players like him as the season progresses.

I like a utility player. Granted he's been played in several positions but watching him play, he can't get the basics right. Last I saw him v Burton he couldn't make a pass, he is always looking to play a 40 yarder and it goes no where. Committed several fouls too, couldn't time a tackle right.

For me signing Ledley is not good business cant see many clubs fighting over him,he will only last 20 mins,and dont forget when he left leaving our club in the shit,he left for more money whereif he stayed we could have made money,

be lucky to get 5 games out of Mutch he's always injured

Signing Joe Ledley at the right price is a no brainer, he still has the quality to play in a top Championship midfield and given we are his hometown club, you would expect him to put that little bit extra into a performance

I'm not one for former players coming back to past clubs they can rock the apple cart a little - but Mutch would be a decent signing especially due to age etc.

Not sure about Ledley - I can see it being a 6m-1yr depending on him getting fit and making an impact like Chamakh and Richardson got given

I heard it's Sunderland on loan, I wouldn't be surprised if Williams was one that Warnock wanted, but was scared off by the loan fee and wages

Agreed, he left at a time when the Riddler was promising the world (including us !!) and not delivering.

Ledley is a strong signing for a Championship and, unlike many, I actually think he will make the first team and him and Gunnar could be what Warnock is looking for in front of the centre backs.

was the best business this club has ever done.
QPR 6 starts . crap so sold to Palace.
Palace 11 starts over 3 years .....Ledley made 54 over same period.
Reading on loan 9 starts but was so impressive they didnt sign him.

Good!!! Would only want him on our terms, he's not worth the near premier wages he'll be chasing and let's face it, he's no more than an average player now.

Doesnt bother me, we dont want to be paying big wages for back up players who arent even fit and had no preseaosn.

This seems like a made up story by people on this board. Joe Ledley is a free agent and is available beyond the closure of the transfer window. We could still potentially sign him in a couple of weeks. So why this story was out on deadline day like big news just shows it was all made up as there would be no rush for it to be completed.

But if it is true he'd be a decent back up Ralls and Gunnar.

Obviously not that desperate to play for his home club. Money always number 1 priority for him, as we well know from the past. Time to move on, well done Warnock for sticking to his guns and not being held for ransom.

I think Joe would be a great signing to be honest .... an old head on and off the field can only be a good thing. I can imagine during tight games his experience would be priceless.

One minute saying ledley willing to take lower wages,then next minute saying wages an issue

There's no truth in him signing tonight surely - I can't see us getting anyone in if I'm honest think that's it until Jan - maybe a random free transfer that nobody sees coming but I think Ledley, and anyone else tonight is a non runner
