With the suggested fees i would take them. We won't need to replace like for like. We have plenty of cover. Granted they may not be quite his calibre. But Bamba and manga are likely to be first choice. If we are
Playing 3 then pelts and Connolly are plenty enough. That's before Halford comes in to the equation.
Cash in then use the money on a real presence in centre mid.

i see the logic in the club selling him for the money to help balance the books.

dont see any logic in fans wanting to sell a 1st team player that our manager rates so highly just because the offer is a mill or 2 more than their personal valuation.
i want the best possible team

I go along with this. For me, I'd keep him as I think he's a top championship defender. This is proven as Warnock rates him highly as, obviously, so do a big club like Sheffield Wednesday and probably many more.
Also, if he stays I wouldn't be surprised if Warnock keeps him as captain. I'd be happy with that.

A lot of people saying - sell for 5mill and put the money towards a player but how do we know this would happen? It could be put straight back towards our huge debt and Warnock told to carry on with the few mill he seems to have.

I think fans are happy to see him go (for a price) as they see, wrongly or rightly, Manga and Bamba and Matt C as perhaps better defenders and partnerships. So I guess, like me, many other fans don't think it would be a huge loss.

Also I just think there are more vocal leaders in the team now.. Bamba and Gunnar stick out as obvious choices.

If there was a guarantee that the money would be reinvested in the team then I would be happy to let him go.

However if NW can get the other 3 players he wants without the Morrison money I would be equally happy to see him stay.

But an extra 4 or 5 million available for NW (if it actually happens) is very attractive.

Yeah I'd go along with a lot of that.
I was really happy with Manga signing as he's got class written all over him if he can stay fit and Bamba - well he was superb last season.
With regards to the captaincy, I think he's great at it and obviously so does Warnock. He plays by example - 100% and is constantly organising and talking. People just don't see him shouting and screaming about the place. Football has moved on from that.

Why are we expecting any sale money going straight to Neil Warnock? For my mind he has his budget it would be up to the club what extra he gets from sales. Wouldn't surprise me if from a £5m sale he only ends up with £2m plus I don't think he'd be happy to sell anyway he may give persmission for Morrison to speak but the move may not be right for him - I wouldn't say Weds are any better than what we can be.

I would have thought that NW would have agreed that any monies he made from selling would be his for buying, shrewd old bird our Neil :D
ps. Davids... Isn't it the case that Davidson is capable of playing centre half as well? who is this ???

Warnock has said Morrison, Bamba and Manga are the best three centre halves in the division, and he trusts Connolly; so I'd be amazed if any of the 4 went, unless we get an amazing offer for Morrison who makes it clear he won't sign a new deal.

NW hinted Morrison was his player of the season after all. He's his captain and one of the first names on the teamsheet. He's got flaws but that's why he's here.

I'm still not certain on Connolly either if we sold I'd expect a replacement of exact same calibrate but younger or someone much better - I don't think Jagielka would be the answer we need to build for a strong future

£4m+ would be great business.

totally dont get the go for a price thing from fans tbh...
yes we can all get excited at 3 new players for that money recieved .. but what percentage of players actually work out long term like Morrison has...? pretty sure the last 30 signed and on loan prior to this window are..revell,doyle,kenedy,o keefe, malone, immers, huws, peltier, ameobi, ravel morrison, ajayi, tamas, lawrence, immers, watt, zohore, amos, mcgregor, meite, halford, richardson, chamach, hoilett, murphy, bamba, lambert, bennett, richards ,gouningbe.
out of that lot i count 2 regulars..and 3 maybe regulars.. id swap the other 25 for marshall and fabio in a heart beat..
the grass isnt always greener..and we need to keep regular 1st team players. and move on the fringe/dead wood

Good post and good research.
Some of the posters on here, you would think the money is coming out of their own pockets
Morrison is a great player for us and Warnock obviously rates him. He's proven and that's good enough for me.
