One of the few ex players I think would make a valid contribution to the team. Wait on Warnock and see if anything happens!

If Ledley does sign I wouldn't be surprised if Gunnar or Ralls were sold.

I can see him holding on to Gunner, him and Ledley in the holding positions would be immense.

I know the media are saying its a virtually NO about Joe Ledley coming to Cardiff City.

But I am hearing Ledley is pushing to come home and would take a pay cut, rem he's also a free agent.

I have also heard if Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock can get an increased budget of Tan, which I have heard Warnock has asked for, then Ledley would be on the cards for next season to be a Bluebird :thumbright: :bluebird:

Joe Ledley has bought a house in Penarth and yes Joe Ledley would love to move back to Cardiff and play for his hometown club, but also his family want to as well and Ledley loves being close to his family in Fairwater.

Joe Ledley a hero for Wales and it would be fantastic to also see Ledley be a hero and help get his hometown club Cardiff City promoted to the Premier League.

If he's bought a house in penury he needs to get a raise in wages!

What part of needing pace in our midfield do you not understand

Granted but what part of we conceded to many goals last season do u not understand? Ledley is an upgrade on what we have,he's free and wants to play for Cardiff unlike some players who are only there for the pay packet,it would mean we still have our full budget to spend on a number ten and a striker and a winger

conceded too many goals.? only 3 more than Huddersfield who are now in the prem.
and 3 less than reading who were only penalty kicks away from the prem themselves.

Or u can say we conceded four more than wigan who are in league one,it's not as much a problem if your scoring goals for fun but when u don't score bags of goals conceding so many is a issue

I hope this pans out as I was gutted when warnock appeared to dismiss it.

Can't believe some city fans don't want him. At our level joe will be class and him and gunnarson can be the strongest centre mid pairing. Just need a class.forward to support ken

Exactly teams will shit themselves just need a quick creative number ten infront of them

I did'nt want Lambert and most on here said he would tear this division apart. That worked out well. I feel the same about Ledley. He will be one of the slowest players at this level, he appears to be unable to last for a full 90 minutes, and like Lambert, I think he will be one big disappointment.

I was one who said the same about Lambert. I'm also saying the same about Ledley although I don't believe he will bomb to the extent that Lambert has.
Just a water carrier that will add little to our first team.

Ledley joining Cardiff City would be fantastic. A) for sentimental reasons, B) for ticket sales, and C) for building a strong side that could push for promotion.

Nigel Harris: The dilemma here is that Joe, even with a pay cut, would still be a huge chunk of budget when he is too similar a player to Ralls and Gunnar. City's cental mid is crying out for a more creative, goalscoring option.

Agree totally. It's a question of priorities, and they must be a striker plus goalscoring number ten
I know wingbacks can work, but 4-2-3-1 really suits Big Ken and we haven't really got anyone to play the role in the hole.

Is that (a) the same level of sentimentality as he had when he left us? :?

OR (b) will there really be an increase of ticket sales that will ONLY truly improve from what it is currently with a winning side and NOT because of an individual literally 'using' us for his own ends? :?

OR (c) is it really going to provide us with anything stronger/better than what we already have in that position and on (possibly less than) half the wages? :?

Each to their own I guess, but Joe Ledley would ONLY come back to Cardiff City FC because it suits him in a similar fashion to the way he left because it suited him (and his Agent, of course) and he won't care any more now than he didn't then! :(

Sentimentality went out of the proverbial window as fast as he did when he left for the £££££'s of the one-team League and besides that I have to agree with 'OriginalGrangeEndBlue' in his assessment! ;) :ayatollah:

Ledley using us for his own ends? A player that WANTS to live in Cardiff is not a bad thing!

I sort of agree we are well covered at DMC, we will need more creative flair somewhere in that squad for improvements :bluebird: :ayatollah:

I agree with all the above. Can't see how an average player who has played for giants like Crystal Palace is going to add a lot to season ticket sales. He is the type of player someone with a bit of pace will dream of playing against. May as well bring his mate Danny back as well, doubt if he is any slower. Just like Lambert, Doyle, Fowler, Cornelius and plenty of other so called names, will be a complete waste of time.

i am undecided about { C }. better than we have IF he still has 35 to 40 x 90 minute games in him which there are doubts about..
{ B } like others i just cant see him putting bums on seats . he isnt a STAR. 13 starts last season for a poor Palace team.
{ A } was gutted when he left..but more gutted the way he left { lots of talk about playing in prem then goes to play in Scotland }
id have understood wanting to play at a higher level against and with better players.

People say they trust NW but it appears not for signing ledley? It's about getting right combination of players to implement NW (style) of playing, time to moan is when he's finished signing players for next season and we know who's here.

Allan, I've already stated elsewhere I will back Warnock's judgement even on Ledley but I don't have to like it when/if he comes back and he won't be getting any 'Heores Welcome' from me!

ThomasC, I have no issues with him wanting to move to live back in Cardiff/Penarth but that sort of strengthens my whole point that Joe Ledley would be 'using' us for his own ends i.e. it's once again about what HE wants (or maybe family pressure ;) ) and not necessarily that he really WANTS to play for Cardiff City FC itself :ayatollah:

Again, each to his/her own but the only applause he'd get from me would be 'by default' as he walks out with the rest of the team that I would be applauding; always assuming he didn't end up as a bench-warmer, as some of us believe he would ;)

There's still hope that Neil Warnock was sincere in his "Ledley not for us" comments and has 'other' targets. I'd rather see that horrible little player Charlie Adam here. He's been a thorn in our side over many years (starting with that Wembley Play-Off) and could do a good job for us strengthening up the midfield and scoring a few goals whilst he's at it! :ayatollah:
