Re: ' We might lose Kenneth Zohore '

Talked about this before today's game.
If he gets 4 more before the season ends then he'll be attracting bids of £5m +
I'd hold out for more as there's so much more to come from him

If he bags a few more we may get some decent bids in. But remember if he then scores around 20 goals next season he'll be worth probably double. We're better off holding out.

Who have we sold on the cheap?

Aaron Ramsey although nothing to do with Tan

The transfer fee was decent but we should of had a sell on clause

we have no reason to sell him he will only get better and next season he either fires us to promotion or gets a big move at the end of the season and we make a gd few million off him, for yrs we have been rubbish in the market i cant remember the last player we made a good few million off...ramsey maybe

sort of see where your coming from. but we were skint and a player is only worth what someone else will pay.
plus he was only 17 with a dozen or so starts to his name.

As Nukes says, you can't blame the Ramsey transfer on Tan and the big error there was no sell-on clause. Ridsdale (as a direct result of Sam's latter year failures) was the architect of that (and other situations)

The current crop, where actually sold rather than released with a pay-off, haven't been sold off too cheaply as City have been in no position to 'hold out' for bigger fees and (as in the case of David Marshall) the only option was to take a deal that included 'add-ons' depending on appearances and Premier League survival

I don't think anyone would take (quote) "all night" to list the number of players with any real value who were sold on the cheap...mainly because we've had so few! ;)

i think the 500k for Moore and 3mill or what ever for Mason were good deals. and going back to Ramsey a sell on clause {even if Arsenal were willing to include one because we were in no more a position to demand one than we were to hold out for more money } would so far have earned us zero. a figure that could well remain at zero should he move on at the end of a contract.

Agree

The Mason deal was (IMHO) incredible and we could add El Pitbull to the list of decent sales. Overall, deadwood pay offs apart, the club have done pretty well with the limited number of players of any worth

But with regard to the Ramsey deal, it would have been a 'safeguard' to ensure the club got something if ever (and it has been rumoured at different times) he was sold on :ayatollah:

Zohore could be a wanted man in the summer

By Chris Wathan

Wednesday 8th March 2017

On the day when the reality of Cardiff City's finances were underlined following the release of the latest accounts, Kenneth Zohore's latest eye-catching display provided a talking point.

As mentioned in the immediate aftermath of the game, the improvements to his game as a lone forward and the potential he is beginning to realise whets the appetite about what he could do for any Cardiff promotion bid next season. It wouldn't be so much building a team around him, but certainly a case of knowing there was a No.9 to look to spearhead a surge.

Yet his well-taken goal – a seventh in eight games – also rose the prospect of who else is taking notice of the 23-year-old Dane. Though his fade into isolated, tired figure as the game wore on and Cardiff's poor hold of possession saw his influence wane reminded he's not the finished article by a long stretch, Zohore's age and attributes mean someone will be scouting and suggesting him as a summer signing.

Even based on half a season, a player that could have easily been eased out on the cheap is suddenly looking like a frontman with a starting price of £5m, £6m, perhaps more.

Though Warnock would be loathe to lose a player he then has to replace, the need to balance books and boost budgets may be a temptation to use such cash for a string of players, the 68-year-old no doubt someone who would back himself to make the money stretch with a bargain or two.

Warnock's already gone on record that he would be prepared to sell players he didn't want to sell in order to enable him to buy players he wants to buy. With Zohore's speculative price tag increasing with every goal and game, it's a scenario that can't be completely ruled out.

i hope we hang on to him to. its one thing getting a big fee to rebuild but another all together the new players bought from the cash working out.

Question is do we hold on to him and watch the potential we are seeing develop to a more complete and prolific striker(and lets be fair here, like any good forward he scores some spectacular strikes and is showing a lot of talent ) and like any good attacker does not rely on scraps.

Or do we cash our chips in and let him go as soon someone comes in with an offer of a million or two and make another McCormack/Gestade balls up!.

Obviously, it's better if he stays with the form he is in, but even if he goes, it will be for a pretty penny and as you say, Warnock will be keen to buy while keeping the fiscal health of the club. Win-win?? Time will tell but Zohore is a great asset either way.

He's been excellent the last few months but I think it would be too soon for other clubs 2 come in for him. He's on a good run of form at the moment but before that looked very average! Let's hope he can carry this form into next season and score the goals that take us up!

Tan said a few seasons ago - He wanted to find his own Mitu ( or how ever you spell it !!! ) ;)

So do we have him or will Tan allow him to go ???
